Now for the ND/FSU game, this is going to be a very tough game for the Irish. Golson will have to play perfect but I think Jaylon Smith and the Defense step up to keep it close. Tough order to win at FSU. Would also have been nice if ND would have been able to return their #1 WR, starting CB and DE for this game too. For a team that doesn't have DEPTH and can't recruit, they've found a way to win their first 6 games without 5 impact players.

FSU is favorite to win and should be at home as undefeated defending national Champs. But one thing you can't criticize ND on is depth. To be undefeated and missing 5 impact players , one being there biggest offensive weapon.

 

I'm a Notre Dame fan. I want them to win. FSU hasn't been FSU of last year yet. But just because I thin that FSU will probably win by 40 .

 

But based off games so far I think the teams stack up well against each other. Bottom line if Golson is loose with the ball ND is done if he takes care of it and makes his plays this game is going to the 4th quarter.

What math are you doing? ND was top 10 in 3 of the last 5 years, so he claimed then a top 10 program. FSU was top 3 in 3 of the 5 years, so I said they were top 3.

No doubt. I've not once stated that ND was not any good, didn't have any depth, or didn't have any talent. I just stated that FSU was better, had more depth, and more talent. I don't think anyone has really debated any of those comments directly.

All I've said throughout was FSU has a better roster with better players. I don't care either way but looking at recruiting classes, power rankings, Vegas rankings, and (for me) the eyeball test--they all point to that. We just disagree there, I guess.

Please, let me know where I changed, twisted, or misinterpreted anyone else's posts. I don't think I've done that. As far as the math, see my reply to Bench. I used YOUR "math" that made ND a "consistent" top 10 recruiter to make FSU a "consistent" top 3 recruiter.

I'll agree to disagree with you here. Yes Notre Dame will have to step up on the defensive side of the ball. If I hadn't just watched the North Carolina game I wouldn't be stressing that as much but it was concerning. It is very tough to win at FSU, I don't care who is on the field.

 

I just don't think ND's athletes aren't that far behind Florida State. They played in 2011 and lost by 4 with Tommy Rees as their QB. I know FSU has produced some great classes since then but still.

 

I also don't base a lot on recruiting. Look at Miss St.

I agree, I think recruiting classes are just part of the equation and you make a great point about Mississippi State.

 

I think part of the perception is that ND is now in the same class as the Big Ten--they need a big win against a top level opponent. The last big game people remember was the championship game against Alabama. Until they do something to change that, then I think it's a valid point.

 

It will be an entertaining game, for sure.
