What has Highlands done differently? Beat Covington Catholic who is arguably at the moment not even a top 5 team in 4A? Right. Every single one of Highlands wins besides that game have come from teams that are not top 10 in their class. Highlands got demolished by Trinity...who got demolished by X...who BG beat.

 

Highlands barely beat Campbell Co...who is not a great team, decent but not great.

 

BG's loss against McCallie is the biggest reason though. MxPreps Freeman rankings rank McCallie 18th in the nation. BG should have won that game. That's a pretty strong trump card.

 

NOW...should Highlands beat Elder or lose by say 1-2, I take it all back and say that Highlands would be fine against BG.

 

I do still believe that BG is going through right now what Highlands went through from 2007-2012, which is a streak in which they're pretty tough to touch.

 

All said, I believe Highlands would be nothing short of a red circled game on BG's schedule if they were there. I also admit I haven't seen Highlands this year and I am not accounting for how much better some posters feel they are getting.

HHS gets crushed every year by T in that scrimmage, when are you guys going to quit using that as a measuring stick for HHS. Obviously thats not a good measurement. Heck, just a couple years ago, T crushed them and many (yes, non hhs fans) thought that HHS might beat them by the time we got to the end of the season. We play T for a reason, to prepare all the new kids that take over new spots every year for winning state championships.

 

If we really need to explain the CC game again, then none of you are paying attention. Use that if you want, but them let me ask you this. Couldn't I then say that maybe BG isn't that good because Owensboro played them within a TD. Not saying I believe that, but we can do that all day. Maybe we could then say Macallie isn't that good because BG played them within a td. Again, all day if you want to.

 

You believe max preps and trust them?...McCallie was 4-8 last year. Now all of a sudden they are a powerhouse???

 

So I really don't see anything in there that tells me HHS couldn't play with BG this year.

 

But I will agree with you that Elder should tell us something because they are very good.

Also birds are 2-0 vs Owensboro.. I like the birds chances against both these teams any years.

Whatever you said, it doesn't change my point. 3 of the 5 are top 10 and they beat then handily. So again, why is hhs bad? Because you don't think the teams they played were good? So even if you're right, why are you so sure HHS is not good? What leads you to believe they aren't good?

 

Its just hilarious, everyone is waiting to jump all over HHS for "coming back to the pack" and as soon as there was a kink in the armor by losing on the last play of the state championship, then all of a sudden HHS is no good. Let me let you in on a secret, this team is good and gets better every week. The "getting better every week" is what's scary. I can promise you anyone in their way does not want to play them by the end of the season. Does that guarantee them a state championship...nope! But it's funny that we are discussing a program that measures success by state championships. You win it...successful. You lose...not successful. Please show me more than 1-2 teams that can be measured that way.

Again, huge mistake to use early season results to try to gage this team. Huge. You really have to see it to appreciate it.

This isn't you??? Seems like you admit Cov Cath is in the top 10, but not PT AND Station. And I would bet my house that Station would beat 6-9 by two tds. Mark my words, they are for real. If they keep the discipline, they will make noise in 6A.
