Is this a joke? I like owensboro but they aren't number 1 over the birds.

 

I think HHS is number 1 but I certainly wouldn't think it's a joke for OHS to be first in someone's mind. Their resume is strong.

No one better sleep on Owensboro; can't imagine that anyone smart would.

And this is why ranking systems are so bad. Highlands has played absoultely no one yet of maginitude besides Bryan Station and they are hardly a top 10 6A team, yet they are favored over the number one team in the state on this site.

 

I'm not picking at HHS, they are having success and will keep improving and are making great strides to reaquire the 4A title. It's just sometimes these sites get me going and this is only one example.

Owensboro was driving for the go ahead score against BG with 2 mins left down 1 and were moving the ball very well. A juggle snap on 3rd and 3 killed that drive. OHS then let BG score to make it 8 pts and to have a chance to tie. BG is the best team in the state. X killled T and BG handled X and outplayed McAllie who beat the crap out of great school in TN (Ensworth maybe??)...put like 62 on them. I don't have Owensboro number 1 but to say it's a joke that someone has another team number 1 is laughable. OHS beat the #4 team in 2A (Ocath) on the road, beat a top 10 team 4A on the road (Madisonville) and beat a top 4 5A (Warren Central) team on the road.

 

Pretty good resume by OHS.

I really don't see a SOS as a basis for Owensboro jumping HHS yet. I do believe Owensboro has a better chance to make the finals simply from lack of competition to get there......I think like HHS, Lexcath is improving every week and will be a tough out coming from the east bracket.

My question is, if HHS plays well and still loses to Elder (and maybe even the Fla. team that I know nothing about) and beats Warren central to close the season, where do you rate them then?

They played BG within a TD and led for most of the game...I don't think you'd find many people on here that believe Highlands would play BG that close.

Hilarious! Then you didn't see this HHS team play. Because it's not even close to the same team. Period. They had more holding, false starts and other penalties on the O line (because of a brand new line, meaning the first time they played offense) than they have had the rest of the season put together. All we can hope is everyone keeps looking at the Camp Co game to judge HHS and they will have everyone saying "I had no idea they were that good! How did they only beat Camp Co by one TD?" at the end of the season. May or may not win it all, but anyone that thinks this team is "down" will be surprised when they take the field with them.

You are totally wrong, because the team you saw in first of the season looks completely different. You should be more open minded that HHS had a lot of changes at the start of the year and it took a few weeks to put it in full gear. Why not watch another game and see for yourself the difference from that game. i am not totally sold on this team yet, but for you to say you have seen all you need after one game is silly.

I'm becoming sold more and more because Hoge and the line gets better and better. Better protection and better reads by Hoge...which is now opening up the running game. Again, may or may not win it all, but you better be pretty good and ready for a dog fight if you have to go thru them. And you better have the formula to slow them down and score with them.

If that is the only time you have seen HHS play this year I get it. They have improved so much it doesn't even look like the same team. Highlands has gotten better each week. It cracks me up that all of a sudden Highlands isn't any good. The last time I checked they have won the last 6 out of 7 state championships!:idunno:

really? Yes? What do you expect them to be? They have one signature win and that is over Lex Cath. Sorry that busts your bubble but maybe you should take it for what it's worth. They have another quality win in Lafayette but lm not sure how "quality" that is.
