I think I talked to three different Ryle Supporters that were still on the Coach Warner bandwagon saying similar things to your post.

Wonder how many kids who skipped school and practice played tonight? Also, Wonder how many kids who showed up to practice and was told to get out and go home, didn't play tonight? Maybe coach should have conducted practice and played only the players who showed up to school.

It won't matter. There is a serious overall talent drought in Florence. No coach in the country can change that.

I thought there would be improvement with Boone with the second year of the new coach. Does he still have respect of the players or are the players running the program?

I just don't get it. I am a Boone alum of not that long ago when they were a top 10-15 program regularly making it to the region finals and state-semis. I have moved since and only been to a handful of games in the past few years, including tonight. What has happened? I understand the introduction of Cooper, but if my memory serves me correct they took more away from Ryle and Conner than Boone. Is it just a combination of that and a typical talent-drought or something more? It is sad to see what has happened to this historic program.

I doubt it. I think the coaching change is what is starting to turn it around at Ryle.

 

I think if you didn't have a coaching change you may still be looking for that first win this year IMO.

I'd be interested in how many of thise supporters were daddy coaches who aren't anymore.

Not sure how many he ended up with but England had 130 yards in the first half.

They would have at least two more wins right now, IMO.

What do you think? Last year you said Boone had more raw talent than CovCath. Do you feel the coaching staff is developing that talent?

 

It's not a lack of talent. The seniors tied for first and beat Highlands their freshman year but many are being played out of position; the Guru's son is a prime example! He's never dropped a pass in a varsity game but hasn't had one thrown to him at all this year! IMO the coaches are bent on running a "system" rather than developing a scheme around the talent you have. All it takes to beat Boone is run a read option and you'll gain 8-12 yards per carry.

Anyone have stats? Curious to see how many yards Ryles #7 had. Was really impressed with him last week.
