Raisbeck? Wait a minute. Is this Tom Raisbeck's boy? The Tom Raisbeck that went to Highlands? Well, there goes my nomination for him in the first class of Hall of Fame at Highlands. Looks like I will vote for Maile. Wait! Nope! How bout Bo Gerding? Was his boy part of this incoming class too? Guess we will have to discuss this predicament in Nov.

 

More good news for you... The kid that caught the game winning TD in overtime name is Logan Beagle. Beagle as in Barry Beagles son. Barry and his brother Steve are former Bluebirds. You guys better check up on the alumni retention department. Just sayin!

My bad - I guess I should read before posting.

The QB is Rich Maile's nephew. Gerding went to Dixie - he wanted too much to sign.

 

Chaz Gerding is a great kid and a very good athlete. He would have looked good in CCH blue.

Fix what? 22 State Championships! Nah we're good. We appreciate their contributions on the football field though.

 

Ahhh, just kidding. Would love to have seen all those guys in our blue and white. Hope they have great success where they are.

Actually it's the contrary. I have watched this Frosh team play from Day 1 to now. They are starting to get it. After watching some of my former players last night and the way they are improving week to week, I think it's safe to say that Highlands Football will be just fine. I still believe that HHS needs a Wildcat Formation with Crosley New running the football out of that formation. They would be a lot better team Offensively with Schoellman's smarts(throwing) and New's legs as a combo dagger. Again...JMO!

 

I agree with the idea of the wildcat formation. However, as I am sure you realize, the frosh run the exact same offense as the varsity (just a little watered down). It would serve no purpose for the betterment of the program as a whole (which is what frosh ball is all about... Some people forget that) to install something, rep it over and over in practice, and then never run it again the next three years. Big picture is far more important.

 

In terms of the game, I was really impressed how Scholemann (sp?) responded at QB for HHS. Heard from fans in the stands that he didn't practice all week and couldn't really speak because of the illness going around. He very well could turn into the first multi year starter at HHS since Towels. Kid can sling it and is super intelligent.
