Now that they're remastering their records the difference might not be so stark, but there were sounds in there I'd never heard before. Blew me away. September 26, 201411 yr Just couldn't find an album chock full of hits. Live at Fillmore is the definitive record but a compilation album. You could also go with "Beginnings", a re-release of their first two albums.

My folks wouldn't let me attend concerts until I was about 17, and even then it was like pulling teeth because that was after "The Who Show Tragedy" which happened when I was 15. Got to see the "4" tour with Billy Squier ("Don't Say No" release). And the "Agent Provocateur" tour w/ Joe Walsh I bet you were at both of those shows. You might already know this piece of trivia, but Foreigner got the idea for the "Juke Box Hero" song because of a show in Cincinnati during their "Head Games" tour where a fan was outside the Coliseum who didn't have a ticket to see the show.
