Holy Cross has gone from state champion to several homecoming games this year in just a short amount of time..............Scott will have no worries.

The Holy Cross stats team will provide live stats, box score, and play-by-play updates. The latest box score/game summary with links to stats will appear in the middle of the page on the day of the game. All the games in the schedule on the right have links too. All the players on the left have their own links to pages with stats that update LIVE. Is Scott beefing up their non district schedule next year? There is no way that any of the teams that they have played have prepared them for district. I am not saying that they wont compete or win district or beat some of the teams, because Scott is a good football team. I just don't see the method to the weak non district schedule and then get bounced in round 1 or 2 of the playoffs. Scott should handle HC, setting up a very good contest to open up district play between Cooper and Scott next week.

 

Hope both of these teams stay healthy for when the season really matters, next week.

Definitely an upgrade in competition. Saw them play Aiken, that game was ridiculous. No benefit in playing that team, with no disrespect to Aiken, but Scott's Froshmore team should have played that game.

You have to remember where this program is coming from. They'be been dormats for so long, that higher level teams weren't exactly going out of their way to schedule them, unless they had an opening on homecoming. They also regularly played Dixie, SK, and up until the last realignment was in district with Highlands and Cov Cath. Those beatings really killed the program. When Dave Campbell took over he made the schedule manageable, helped start the youth program and built a solid tie in with the middle school program. All of those things put them where they are right now. And yes, while the schedule is light, they will have put together a couple winning seasons, and built a lot of interest in the program and now have decent numbers, and more importantly are keeping talent. This team (or last years team) isn't going to win a state title, no matter who they play during the regular season. Heck, many predicted they'd be way down, and that last year was a fluke. The schedule does get tougher next year with SK, Dixie and New Cath on the slate. In district I'd say gets a little easier, and with almost the entire starting lineup returning (they are only losing about 4 or 5 seniors who are major contributors), the tougher schedule puts them in a position to make a deep playoff run in 4A next year. They did the right thing and this schedule has helped them build confidence, learn how to win, and energize the community. This has been a long 7 year process started by Dave Campbell, and kept going by Dan Woolley, and Scott football is finally relevant, something it has never been.
