ISIS beheads another US journalist

To be fair Obama has authorized air strikes and a few other measures. So he has not ignored it completely.

Where Obama made the mistake was under estimating this group and reacting late. I don't know how many more non-combatant Americans can be beheaded before you just have to declare war.

The only frustrating thing to me right now is the administration's reluctance to admit ISIS is a direct threat to our National Security. I don't want war but we also can't allow terrorist groups to behead American Citizens.

I feel sick over this. I know his family knew it was coming, but I can't even begin to imagine.

Sotloff knew it as well. I don't know if Foley knew they'd actually kill him after they'd threatened to so many times, so he may not have had any idea he'd die that day. Sotloff knew they were acting on their threats at this point, so he was just waiting...

Killing innocent people in the name of religion, or politics, or a combination of both...in the name of your God, is abhorrent. It's time to do something. I don't know what, but...time to have a strategy.

This angers me.

Could ISIS be antagonizing us to enter a ground war with them? If so, should we engage the way they want us to?

We should just send a team of SEALS in and take them out with snipers. Nothing wreaks havoc on a battlefield like the constant threat of a sniper.

No, revenge is a dish best served cold.

We need to have a better plan for the Middle East in general and stick with it. That plan should espouse human rights and dignities, respect for borders and then whatever interests we need to protect. Trying to appease and please in this region is a waste of time and money.

So we show the people of the Middle East the pathway to freedom, respect for human rights and dignity through the barrel of a gun?

There is no need for a ground war. They are defenseless like all insurgents against our air superiority. Why do you think they keep getting ticked with it?

Maybe Obama will now realize the threat they pose.

Maybe its time for a plan and not a tee time.

How do you know exactly what is being done and not done? Do you honestly think the US engages in secretive strikes and spy warfare only to have the President brief the country on what is being done? Not likely. I'm not taking up for the President, but then again, I have no idea what is being done. And that may be the way the US wants it.

I betting they don't know where they are or else they would. Look at how long it took to find Bin Laden.

You would like to go to war with ISIS? How long to we engage with them? How much money are we willing to fork over to engage? Another trillion dollars?

Should we even consider sending American lives when the Iraqis are throwing down their weapons and deserting their own country?

Will Congress vote on this declaration of war?

^ it doesn't matter if we want to go to war with them, they are at war with us! Are we to sit back and wait for another 9-11? Or worse? As many are saying they will strike us here, and very very hard, within a few years.

ISIS is not hiding. It is very difficult to hide in the desert. When snipers find a good hiding place they sometimes must lie motionless for 3 days or more while they wait for a target to avoid detection.
