At one stretch, he was the baddest man in the league. And when you asked the league, they'd tell you the same.

Helluva run.

Wasn't he undrafted out of college?

Wasn't he undrafted out of college?

Yep. Amazing

Well that didn't last long.

Coming back with the Steelers.

Indeed

And I'll be there for his prodigal return.

I love me some James Harrison but between him and Old Man Keisel the Steelers are just flat out old. Stop gap signings for sure.

Is this good or bad news for the Steelers?

It's good if they can squeeze some 2009-level play out of each guy in short spurts. Ultimately bringing them back is a sign of larger problems.

There's theguru we've been missing.

I was very impressed with the Steelers on Sunday night but these signings are another warning sign to me.

I don't think it's any secret that the Steelers are not as young as they once were on defense.

Like what? That they had 3 defensive starters go down? 2 of which are 1st rounders with milk on their lips? One will be replaced by a 3rd year player who will be solid, the other, has a veteran who played well backing him up. With the exception of CB (the weakest part of the entire 53) those in backup roles are solid replacements. Harrison signed for depth. Limited snaps unless he shows out to be more than they'd hoped. As for Keisel, he's still playing at a very high level. It allows the 2nd rounder from ND to be nursed into a more significant role.

That Pittsburgh hasn't done a good job drafting the last few years and they lack depth. And stepping out even further, I don't think Tomlin is the guy.

You may not think Tomlin is the guy, but he's gonna be there regardless. How you feel about Marvin these days?

I'll say that they've done a decent job drafting but have not hit any homeruns late in the draft like they typically have, poor job in FA and hanging on to vets too long. Harrison for vet minimum and Keisel at a bargain both good front office decisions.
