August 27, 201412 yr Author With Jaylen Johnson now into the fold, the roster has taken shape. Nice recruiting class headed into year one of the new league. Obviously a lot of scoring to replace with the loss of Russ Smith. A lot will be on Rozier in that respect, I feel. Not a league champion, I don't think, but the Cardinals will be right near the top. What do we think the rotation is going to look like? Who starts where?
August 27, 201412 yr Author Chris Jones Terry Rozier Wayne Blackshear Montrezl Harrell Mangok Mathiang Hard to argue with that. Really high on several of the freshmen in this class and looking forward to seeing who steps in and gets some minutes. Hard to imagine that Matz Stockman doesn't transfer at the end of this year.
August 27, 201412 yr Looks like some of those guys need to spend some time at Golden Corral. 7'1" 205#, and 6'7" 175#. Those guys must be toothpicks.
August 27, 201412 yr Looks like some of those guys need to spend some time at Golden Corral. 7'1" 205#, and 6'7" 175#. Those guys must be toothpicks. Both freshmen... They will bulk up.
August 27, 201412 yr The back court will determine what kind of season UL has. In addition to Montrezel, I look for Mathiang to have a great year, so the starting front court should be really good.
August 27, 201412 yr Both freshmen... They will bulk up. They will, but I still cannot fathom 7'1" and 205 lbs.
August 27, 201412 yr They will, but I still cannot fathom 7'1" and 205 lbs. I haven't seen him in person, but I agree.
August 27, 201412 yr Author What are the expectations for Blackshear? I've been waiting for him to take his big leap forward for two years now so... for me... none.
August 27, 201412 yr That is why I asked. I have never been able to figure out where he really fits in the college game. Just seems to get to a point where you think he might bust out then regresses.
August 27, 201412 yr Author That is why I asked. I have never been able to figure out where he really fits in the college game. Just seems to get to a point where you think he might bust out then regresses. To be sure, the injury that bugged him for the early part of his time at UofL really hurt him that first year. After the 2012 Final Four, I was sure it was time for him to take his big step... and it never came in the 2012-13 season... nor did it come last year. I don't know what I could be waiting for. I think he's about capped out.
August 27, 201412 yr I fully expect Blackshear to graduate as the biggest 4-year bust during Pitino's tenure...
