Started a biggest loser contest with a friend from hs and his co-workers in MN. Down from 250-244 in 4 weeks utilizing myfitnesspal.com as an accountability partner and just eating smaller portions, healthier, and exercising. Goal is 225 by December. Once I hit 40 years old you just start preparing for legacy, setting a good example, and enjoying grandkids down the road.

Planning, patience, knowing boundaries, and setting goals has been key. As it is with most worthy pursuits in life! :thumb:

Did 5k on the rower yesterday. FYI, rowing sucks.

What this afternoon has in store...

“Nasty Girls”

3 Rounds for Time

50 Air Squats

7 Muscle-ups

10 Power Cleans (135/95)

I did my first 3k in Aug & did my first 5k a couple of weeks ago. Now mind you I'm not much of a runner but I love to walk. I'm more of a walger(walk/jogger). Best advice get good shoes and socks! I didn't come in first nor last but in the middle in both races. It was fun and I plan on keeping it up. I walk approximately 5 miles a day with strength training 4 days a week. The results have been good-cholesterol, BP, HR and BMI all down. I'm 25 lbs lighter which is an added bonus. I bought my first pair of size 8 pants yeah! I got my certification as an ACE personal trainer 3 years ago so this has been over a period of time & now I'm reaping the results! Exercise, portion size and getting 7 hours sleep a night have been key for me.

So are you a trainer? Did you do CE or let cert expire?

Not doing so well lately. Plan on hitting it hard after we move.

250-235lbs. in 12 weeks, from size 42 to 38" waist. Exercise, discipline, TIME MANAGEMENT, and portion size has been integral. If this guy can do it, so can you.

Really big fan of buying bulk chicken breast, legs, and grilling them on Sunday to portion meals throughout the week and complimenting meals with rice, veggies, and no desserts. Can't say enough good things about the myfitnesspal.com site. It will literally change the way you view food and help in transitioning mindsets for the better on what you eat.

Here's the eye opener, I'm not at the gym pumping iron, swimming, nautilus, etc....I only walk on a daily basis. Once I get down to 225 I'll start the mountain biking, swimming, etc.....my back, knees, ankles simply couldn't handle the extra weight. Many years of football and "xtreme sports" back in the 70's-80's has played heck as well.

Moral of the story, start small, set real daily goals and be patient with yourself. You will have off days and fall back into bad habits. That's ok we all do, the game changer is when you choose a different direction, experience the reward and build on the new process vs. reverting back to what's comfortable. The reward is great and all of you deserve that reward. Just takes some discipline, time management, and good choices. Believing in your alls success. Feel free to ask any ?'s and sorry for the long post. It's important, however, to paint a picture of my path to help motivate others if this spoke to you. Best wishes and know you can accomplish anything you set your mind to....:thumb:

I'm in the market for a spinning bike? Anyone ever had one at home? Thoughts, recommendations?
