October 1, 201411 yr Get one with a comfy seat. Some are horrible. Especially for guys. The ones in the classes I have done aren't very good. I'd assume I will have to buy an after market seat so it's comfortable.

October 1, 201411 yr I'm in the market for a spinning bike? Anyone ever had one at home? Thoughts, recommendations?Wish I could help but I just bring my bike and trainer.
October 1, 201411 yr I would recommend getting a road bike and a trainer. That way you can ride indoor and outdoor.

October 1, 201411 yr I'm in the middle of week 4 of p90x (again). Ridiculous (in a good way) how well it works for me.
October 1, 201411 yr My struggles right now are youth soccer and youth softball (which just ended). It's hard for me to find gym time. I've gone from 4-5 nights a week to 1-2 nights a week because I simply don't have time. On a bright note, I now have my max bench up to 325 lbs. I'm much stronger now than I've ever been before.
October 1, 201411 yr Did something dumb and signed up for 2015 Ironman Chattanooga this morning. I want more info on Ironman competitions. I'm looking for a new challenge to help me stay motivated.
October 1, 201411 yr I want more info on Ironman competitions. I'm looking for a new challenge to help me stay motivated. Its an event done in this order, 2.4 mile swim (not too hard if you are a decent swimmer), 112 mile bike (fairly challenging physically and quite exhausting mentally), 26.2 mile run (sucks, sucks, sucks).

The running is what gets me. I can barely run 3.2 miles at the moment. How much time does an event like this take on average? And how do you begin training for this?
October 8, 201411 yr Author Ordered Focus T25. That will be a 25 minute daily intense workout for 2 months. I WILL find 25 minutes each day. No excuses. Plus just bought some new Saucony's, so I'm ready to roll.
October 8, 201411 yr The running is what gets me. I can barely run 3.2 miles at the moment. How much time does an event like this take on average? And how do you begin training for this? I'd say the average time is around 14 hours. Honestly, you just start. Get in the pool, on ANY bike, and start getting some miles in. There will be several tri's in the area come next spring and there is even a winter series in Shelbyville. I'd recommend spending a year doing smaller tri's and familiarizing yourself with them. If you do truly want to do an Ironman then, pick one and commit 6 months to hardcore training. In all honesty, anyone can do one if they put the time in. The mental toughness is the hardest part.
October 8, 201411 yr I'm gunning for half triathlon next summer and full the next year. Training begins next week
