August 14, 201412 yr My opinion is formed based on my numerous experiences there. It's incredibly dirty (around the campus area), and has never been a pleasant experience. What part of campus were you on that was incredibly dirty, especially numerous times? Just curious.

Smelled of sewage and littered with garbage every time I've been that way. Haven't been there in probably 5+ years, so maybe things have changed, but I'm definitely not venturing down there to find out.
August 14, 201412 yr This story should be real comforting to those parents who are sending their kids to college at UL.
August 14, 201412 yr I was just in Louisville last weekend and loved it! Dropped the teenagers off at the YUM Center to see Miley and walked around for awhile. Had some drinks at the Bluegrass Brewing Co. and then dinner at Ruby's. Mr. lawildcat and I will definitely come back again (although, the Louisville Ruby's was just OK; I prefer the one in downtown Cincinnati).

Never been to Ruby's but my understanding is that there are better steakhouses in Louisville. I've always been partial to Del Frisco's and Pat's myself. If those jerks touch either one of those places, I'm going the full Dark Knight on this town...

Well, Louisville is on the Ohio River, so from time to time, anywhere in the city you could get that smell. Especially after a heavy rain. Also, there used to be a dog food plant very close to campus on Floyd Street, and sometimes that stuff smelled BAD. As for the garbage, I don't really know how to explain that. I've been on campus quite a bit, and I've never seen it how you describe. Maybe something was going on that had a lot of people out and about those times? I don't know. As for changes on campus, it is completely different than it was five years ago. New buildings, new dorms, new restaurants, new entrances to the campus, the works. There are still older buildings obviously, but major improvements have been made in that time stretch. I love that part of town, it's changed 10-fold since I moved here in 2004.

Maybe there have been a lot of changes, and it's improved. Also, like I said, the downtown area (Galt House, Museum, etc.) was very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to that part of the city. I could do without ever seeing 4th street live again though.
August 14, 201412 yr Because everybody knows, if it's on the internet, it's true! The police have confirmed the reports as being true, have they not? Now whether it actually happens or not is another matter all together.
August 14, 201412 yr The police have confirmed the reports as being true, have they not? Now whether it actually happens or not is another matter all together. Well they've confirmed that these posters were made and distributed as well as some stuff circulating on the internet. It was enough to get their attention and justifiably so. No telling who created the posters or why.
August 14, 201412 yr I use to have a pretty negative view of Louisville what I was younger. That changed pretty quickly after I started spending more time there for work. Are there dirty run down parts...without a doubt. Show me a town or city that doesn't. However Louisville has numerous very cool areas. If you know someone who lives there or knows the area and can take you to around you will see it is actually a pretty cool place.

Swopshire or Samuels? :lol2::lol2:
August 14, 201412 yr I could do without ever seeing 4th street live again though. You and the majority of people that live here. :lol2: Most people I know avoid 4th Street like the plague. Too many stupid rules.
