Lincoln County 2014/2015

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Lincoln County. Remember, please be constructive.

I know they return Taylor who is one of the best pure point guards in the state. Add in Conway and Conley, and you have a team that will threaten Wayne Co's reign as region champs.

I sung Lincoln's praises all last year. Great coach, 2 very good players, and a great shooter - not to mention their role players who play their roles well. Having said that, it's my opinion that they're in danger of not winning their district this year. With Boyle getting transfer Jeremiah Bell, they should be favored (on paper). However, as with any team that receives a transfer, there's no way of knowing how it will play out for Boyle.

Outside of that, there's Southwest who picked up 2 transfers in PG Gover and a talented big. Likewise, who knows how that will play out? But, on paper, they should contend as well.

There'll also be another team or two that could surprise.

Lincoln's lack of a real post presence (not just an underneath banger) really showed in the region semifinal loss to Southwestern. If I'm not mistaken, their only senior was one of the low-post guys. They did, however, go 3-0 against Boyle and their big man, although Elkins isn't nearly as strong as the Southwestern center was. Have they improved enough to overcome size deficiencies against some region teams?

With all of the recent transfers into the 12th Region I think Lincoln is the one team that will get ignored when it comes to discussing the top teams in the region. I think that plays to their favor. They return most of their team along with their studs Timmy Taylor and Jacob Conway. I fully expect Lincoln County to be one of the top 4 teams in the region and they are certainly capable of winning the 12th Region.

I agree with PP. Lincoln is proven, finished last year ranked in the top 10 and returns everyone. No one should be forgetting about them.

That said, they have 2 really good players. Wayne has 3. A couple of others, Boyle included, also now have 3. I think the top 6 teams in the region will be even tougher than last year. It's feasible that the 12th could have 4, possibly even 5, teams in the top 20.

All I can say is, "Hello Darlin!"

I thought recruiting was illegal why is nothing ever done about it

??? Who said anything about recruting? And you might want to be a little carefull throwing the "r" word around.

I'm hearing rumblings that Lincoln County has or is gaining a transfer. Can anyone confirm or deny and state a name?

Have you heard a name?

Have you heard a name?

Nope. Not sure if the rumblings have any legs or not but I am trying to find out. I haven't heard a name yet so I'm thinking they don't have a transfer. Kind of hard to hide.

The ramblings I am hearing out of lincoln is not somebody transferring in but somebody wanting to transfer out.

I know Taylor was't happy over Jackson not wanting him to play football.
