KHSAA transfer rule still applies. If AF is denied reinstatement at Boone, he will almost certainly have to change addresses.

Me and Guru were wondering the same thing in the "Floyd" thread. I think if the BOE allows him to transfer the KHSAA would approve it and rule him eligible, but I am only guessing. It would make for great conversation on here if he did switch schools and was ruled immediately eligible.

The rumor, of course it is rumor, was that when Sydney Moss was permitted to go from Ryle to Boone by the BOE, that the KHSAA rubber stamped their approval. But who really knows....

And the best decision would have been to let him go. Boone Counties strict districting system not only protects under performing schools, but also under performing football programs. When Thompson was given his walking papers, players should have been given the right to transfer with out penatly.

I didn't know they were on probation.

 

So according to you, if a coach is let go at any school the entire team can transfer... Sorry, but that is just stupid thinking. This isn't like they were recruited to go to that school and play. It's the school in their district. They are there for education not athletics.

Sometimes being a good kid and having good parents doesn't take away the fact that he bailed on a team and hasn't been to a single Boone County football practice in over 9 months.

 

If this player has not participated in any off season activities with Boone County....and he is a senior, isn't it as if he quit the team in January? You wouldn't let any other senior come back in August after missing the entire winter, spring and summer programs. Why is AF entitled to such?

AF played baseball until June. So we are only talking about the last 10 weeks. If the Floyds had only executed the transfer a little differently, we would not be having this conversation.

Is it possible that AF may not even be seeking reinstatement?

 

Funny you should ask that. I was told today that up until today (can't vouch for today) the Floyd's have not approached Coach Griffith.
