If it was all about Aaron Floyd's interest then he was in the wrong sport to begin with.

 

His interest may be bigger than the actual reality. That is he and the people around him may think he is better than he really is.

If I were building a team around any individual player in Boone county, it wouldn't be Aaron Floyd. The perception of him as a player by some is very misconstrued. Sorry, but that is reality. Good player, not great and deffinatley not a difference maker.

 

Was it a team sport when the HC installed his son at QB over the objection of the position coach who later resigned? Was it a team sport when the Principal initially stood by as a spectator while the HC used the varsity football program to advance his personal agenda? HB, you complain about Ryle being daddy ball, this was overt and blatant! It was this decision and the initial implicit support by the administration that sent talent scattering to other programs. For years, the HC and Administration DID NOT HAVE THE INTERESTS OF THE KIDS AS THEIR PRIMARY CONCERN!

 

No personal loyalty or personal sacrifice was merited, yet Aaron Floyd stayed and played out of position when it was not in his interests to do so. Moss left. McClure left. Tucker left. Olmstead left. Floyd stayed.

My understand is he is not practicing. I am not even sure if the Floyd's have approached Coach Griffith yet. When I know more I will post it.

Sometimes being a good kid and having good parents doesn't take away the fact that he bailed on a team and hasn't been to a single Boone County football practice in over 9 months.

 

I think Boone is a better team with Aaron and it would be foolish to not let him play his Senior year. I'll say it again, he's a great kid and whether you argue for or against his decision to try and transfer ultimately it doesn't matter the circumstance of why he is back. Simple fact he is back and can be very helpful to the team.

You are right, I had a serious problem with Ryle having dads all over their coaching staff and it showed in their performance the last few years. If that was the problem at Boone as you state it was, then what makes Floyd's decision to transfer right? It is a team game and when it becomes an individual game is when the team loses more times than not. So again, that isn't he problem with that type of mentality.

 

Again, when the only objective is to further yourself and not care about the rest of your teammates then you aren't a good teammate in the first place.

 

You mentioned a lot of players that left, but there are other reasons some left and not just to about themselves and furthering themselves in the sport. Olmstead for instance, his mother works at SK. Moss was already getting attention and was starting as a Freshman so you can't say he left because he wasn't playing or playing in the wrong position etc. If anything Moss was so overrated his freshman year it wasn't funny, but it was his name. The others I don't know anything about.

 

Again I will say, this is a new coach and staff, sure doesn't seem to be about their buddies playing in front of others, it seemed to me that coach Griffin put the best players out there and apparently that isn't good enough for those only concerned about themselves.

I believe AF deserves reinstatement at Boone. He did nothing that you could characterize as misconduct. But, if he is not reinstated at Boone, I suspect his high school football career may not yet be over.

My point is why reinstate someone who doesn't want to invest in the program? It's clear he wants nothing to do with it. The only reason it's desperate now is because it's his only option.

Floyd has had a choice to leave or not attend Boone and/or go to another county school. Floyd has had more of a choice than almost any student in the school system, because of how school employees can attend any school they wish within the school system.

 

Floyd chose to to go to Boone, his family was very familiar with the Boone program before he enrolled. This notion of him being stuck there is comical, considering he picked Boone over all the other county schools. He picked Boone three years in a row, he could have left after his Frosh year and been eligible, because I don't remember him playing varsity in any sport, but he chose to stay at Boone.

Floyd was/is not subject to those strict districting rules..........neither was Moss.
