From some Mason County friends they say that the Royals are poised to return to Rupp Arena in the postseason. Anyone else see this happening?

Who are the projected starting 5?

4 of the starting 5 will be Pig Williams, Dorian Henry, Jake O'Mara, and Cameron Frame. My MC source says the 5th starter is still up in the air and will likely fluctuate throughout the season until O'Hearn finds what works best.

Campbell Co is definitely favored to repeat but I believe Mason Co be their top challenger.

They could potentially play each other at the Mike Murphy Classic in December. The two will definitely meet on Janurary 6th. We should be able to see how the two stack up against each other. As far as Masons fifth starter I'm hearing Isiah Garrison. He the freshman everyone was impressed with over the summer. His father was a star at Mason Co back in the 90's. So it's in his blood. :thumb: I think he will complement Pig Williams very well.

I'm actually picking Mason Co as the tenth region champs this year. While I don't have much to base that on I just feel after missing the party the last two seasons this team will have a fire in their bellys and a chip on their shoulders. As long as that holds true all season they will be right there at the end.

Could see Ryan Johnson being the 5th guy.

Mason will face NewCath at the Pendleton County Panorama on Saturday.

At this point, I see GRC & Mason as the main threats to unseat Campbell. But I will agree with you that Mason County should be the #2 team in the Region. As has been the case for the last couple of years, I think guard play will determine what kind of season the Royals will have. The front court, with Henry & O'Mara, should be among the 10th's best. But the guards have to consistently produce for Mason to contend IMO.

Mason County had one of the most talented rosters that I saw last year. Either poor coaching or team chemistry can only keep them from being an elite program year in and year out.

Mason is a team that is quiet capable of winning the region with strong guard play. To me, there season revolves around #35 Jake O'Mara and the mysterious 5th starter to be named. (Most likey a guard). That will be critical too.

I full expect to Mason in the regionals after a two year absence.

Isn't his dad a Myrick that played at Mason Co?

Yes it is, but I'm not sure which one.

Thought so. I knew it wouldn't be too long until we saw some of them playing again.
