August 4, 201412 yr This whole Dalton situation is a tough one. On one hand you have a QB who has gotten better each year besides interceptions. Each year they have got more wins, they have made the playoffs each year, moved up to win the division last year, and became a top 10 offense last year. He is also one of three QB's to throw 80 TD's in his first 3 years, joining Peyton Manning and John Elway. So he has to be doing something right you would think? On the other hand Dalton has sucked each year and has shown very little to any progress in playing well in big games or against top defenses. Which is a huge problem because if you want to be more than just a playoff team, you have to have a QB who can play well in those situations and he has not! So this was a tough situation and I still wish they waited. However now I just hope that it is a Bengal friendly contract like the one Kaep signed with the 49ers. If it is similar to that, then it is not quite as bad as it seems right now when you only see the 6 years 115 million part.
August 4, 201412 yr This is fine but Burfict better be the next one in the office! I would have to think that they way they structured this deal that it would have to allow them to be able to still extend both Burfict and Green! Or at least they better!
August 4, 201412 yr Mike Brown is too smart with his $ to not have this deal be highly incentive based. Well, I hope so, anyway. I hope you are right otherwise they just Joey Votto'd the organization.
August 4, 201412 yr And it's now official, Dan Hoard just tweeted a picture of him signing it. False alarm? lol thats funny.
August 4, 201412 yr Looks like AJ will have to be traded, cant afford both of them now. Do you really believe half the stuff you post?
August 4, 201412 yr So basically this guy says Dalton sucks in just about every area? And yet, he has won 30 games in 3 years, OK.. I agree he has sucked it up in the playoffs ALONG with most of his teammates and coaches. I think the best is yet to come, but if not, at least he is better watching than all the clowns they have had since the early 90's. If I have to be satisfied with JUST getting to the playoffs, then I will be fine as in years past I had to switch my thinking to college hoops around late September. No, what this guy is saying and has the facts to back it up is Dalton is ok when he isn't pressured but when he plays good teams with good defenses he isn't very good at all. That is what we've all been saying all along. Under pressure he is horrible.
August 4, 201412 yr Do you really believe half the stuff you post? AJ going to command what, 20 million thats what Calvin is getting next year.
August 4, 201412 yr Who in here thinks Dalton is as good as Joe Flacco? Flacco not only won a playoff game in every year in his first 5 years but also won a SB and he is making $20 mill a year, Dalton who hasn't won anything is making $19 mill a year. Makes no sense to me.
August 4, 201412 yr AJ going to command what, 20 million thats what Calvin is getting next year. 1. AJ won't get the same money as Megatron. He's a stud, but he's not CJ. 2. Yes, the Bengals will be able to afford him, not a doubt in my mind.
August 4, 201412 yr I'll wait for details, I have to think that Dalton's has much less guaranteed money than Flacco's.
August 4, 201412 yr 1. AJ won't get the same money as Megatron. He's a stud, but he's not CJ. That is very true, but then again AJ is closer to CJ than Dalton is to Flacco and Dalton is making close to what Flacco is making now.
August 4, 201412 yr That is very true, but then again AJ is closer to CJ than Dalton is to Flacco and Dalton is making close to what Flacco is making now. We'll agree to disagree.
