August 2, 201412 yr How many playoff games have they won with Cueto since he has been a starter? My opinion of Cueto the person changed when he was kicking and stomping at players during that Reds-Cardinals brawl a few years back. I really don't care if he would win 10 Cy Young's, (just me)but am not a fan of his. But hey Cespedes is with Boston and Reds fans have no worry about Cueto going anywhere. One of the top-5 pitchers in the game. Not sure why some want to rush him out of town. Just sayin' … Also, they've only been to the playoffs once since he's been there. Maybe he does better the next time?
August 8, 201412 yr When I saw the Sox/A's trade I thought to myself that the Reds missed out on a good chance. I wouldn't have dealt Cueto for Cespedes, but I would have let any of the other starters on staff go. Latos included. Maybe the A's wouldn't pull the trigger on a deal for Latos though?? Hope I'm wrong, but Latos doesn't seem the same to me this year since coming back from his injuries. Given the Reds recent history of guys staying half hurt, I think this could be a precursor to him going from great to good. The Reds desperately need some pop in their order, and any offense from left field would be welcomed. GABP was built for power hitters and the Reds best power guy is hitting for Dave Kingman's average.
August 8, 201412 yr ^ His velocity is down a bit from years past but his numbers have been just as good other than K/9. I will chalk that up to multiple injuries and with a healthy off season I would expect that to return to past years. Heck his Walks and hits per 9 are down even. ERA is slightly over 3.

Velocity is one thing that has me worried. Nothing to sneeze at there. He seems to be laboring an awful lot on most every start. Granted, his numbers are still good, but he sure seems to be working a lot harder to get them. That's a bad sign, IMO. The injury thing really worries me as well. Lots of Reds get hurt, then hurt again, and stay hurt a lot in recent years. I'm not sold on the medical staff, and Latos took his time coming back. Yet, he still appears to be laboring.
