His completion % went down by .04%. That's 2 lousy completions.

His TD% went up by .57%. His INT% went up by .38%. That means he actually threw 1.5 more TDs per additional INT he throw last year.

And when you put it all together it looks like I originally said is that he looks like he has basically stayed the same. More creedence to that than to say he has improved each year he's been in the league. .04 and .57 and .38%'s don't really equate to getting worse or getting better but staying around the same. Not one of those categories was even a full percentage point better or worse. Seems kind of even to me.

Your not taking into account other things. As I said they dont become a top ten offense and 6th most points without a running game if he is still like he was as a rookie. He has gotten much better at finishing drives and getting touchdowns and points. He simply still sucks in big games like he did as a rookie and that definitely is a problem

John, I feel like you (and several others) are judging Dalton as if he is a 10 year veteran. The guy has three years in the league, heck some QB's haven't even taken a snap at that point. Obviously he has to be better, in general, in big games, in the playoffs, in a myriad of ways, but there is no reason to believe he isn't still on an upward trajectory. Does anyone look at Cam as a finished product? Jake Locker? Christian Ponder (that lasted a long time, huh?)?

The desire to cut bait and start over, with a roster chock-full of guys either in or entering their prime, is just amazing to me.

I don't understand this point at all. Unless you're Brady, Brees, Manning or someone in that camp it makes it a lot harder to win after the QB gets a huge deal. If you're the Bengals and you re-sign Dalton to $16-20M a year he better be good enough to overcome the guys you will have to lose to give him that money. Teams like SF and Seattle have proven if your roster is strong you can win and win big with a QB drafted with that strong roster. No doubt though the Gals could swing and miss in the draft even with this strong roster. Unless Dalton shows drastic improvement he's probably not worth what he will demand.

From the training camp bridge...

Some people need to get a life.
