Anybody thouhgt to send that to ESPN? I have seen shots not that good on there before. They might use it, you never know.

 

Was there at the game, it was a great shot. Said before it shouild be on someone's sports video.

That was Laurel County not South Laurel. Since South Laurel erased nearly all of their records in most sports and started from scratch like a brand new school when they had the split in 1992, IMHO, they forfeited the right to display those 6 state title banners (1 boys title & 5 girls titles) on the wall. They took them down for a while but put them back up about 6 years ago if memory serves me right. (The school board made an error in renaming a school with a rich tradition and put this chain of events into motion).

 

The shot itself was actually just inside half court near the left corner of midcourt, about 44-48ft estimated distance. That shot did make ESPN (in its earlier days) and a lot of national news as it won a state title for an underdog. It was simply amazing in the top 3 for surreal sports event happenings I have experienced as a spectator.

I saw a clip just days ago from this season where a HS coach in Kentucky got hit in the head by a ball he didn't see coming thrown cross court by another team. Not intentionally, just overshot his teammate. I wish I could post it. It was absolutely hilarious! I love these kind of freak clips. Lots of fun!

Sorry, I should have been more specific. It was Laurel County not South Laurel. Though the name of the school has changed a bit, The building is still the same.
