Caldwell County Football Field Problem

Featured Replies

I know several places that are struggling with Bermuda grass fields it hasn't been hot enough to encourage growth

Ours is struggling but I think it will be fine. We plan to scrimmage on it August 1st. From 2003 thru about 2008, we had to resprig or reseed every year. Since that time, our field has been so good, we have not even had to reseed. This is the first year we have reseeded in a long time.

Or turf guy, Chad Asbury, does a great job with Riviera. Reseeding is cheaper than sprigging, and for us it has been more effective. The Riviera is also more cold tolerant, but this winter got us.

Frankfort field is really looking awful. Very concerned good news we don't play at home for first 4 weeks. Something don't turn around soon may have to look into playing someplace else. (kentucky state?)

The administration must have been sitting around doing nothing. Then, thanks to the uproar on BGP they went out and found some grass to start putting in. Whew! Disaster averted!!! (Sarcasm intended) Sindelar can now revoke his transfer request to Trinity.

I am sure the OP is smiling a big smile right now.

Oh no, Caldwell County waited so long they weren't able to get "exactly" the type of Bermuda they wanted. Had to settle for their second choice, which I'm sure will lead to someone getting hurt and someone else getting fired.

Also, I have it on good authority that Caldwell will play several road games this year on fields they don't even own — heaven forbid someone gets hurt there!
