July 16, 201412 yr Author Just found this. Pretty much sums up the way I feel. Y! SPORTS Thanks for posting. I was getting ready to do the same
July 16, 201412 yr Oh my gosh, finding these all over the place right now. This one is down right funny! All 100 Times Jeter's Name Was Mentioned On Fox?And All Zero Of Gwynn's
July 16, 201412 yr Here's another. Pretty well said. Hey, Fox, Tony Gwynn Died, You Know... - Eric Wilbur's Sports Blog - Boston.com
July 16, 201412 yr I would love to hear the crap excuse MLB and Fox come up with for this....Just pathetic.
July 16, 201412 yr I would love to hear the crap excuse MLB and Fox come up with for this....Just pathetic. Fox is claiming they DID do a special tribute to Gwynn. But, they aired it as part of their pre-game coverage on Fox Sports One. (Yeah...lot of people sure to see it there.)

What a crock of crap. Fox dropped the ball, guess they didn't want to urinate off the Yankees and their viewership if they took a minute or two to mention Mr. Padre.
July 16, 201412 yr ...... Did anyone, honestly, think to themselves last night, "wow, shocked they didn't honor Gwynn and Zim"? Or, were you like me, and when others brought it up on Twitter (and other places), did you think, "yeah, good point, that is surprising they didn't do anything"? Never occurred to me last night that it was missing...shame on me I guess.

Never occurred to me last night that it was missing...shame on me I guess. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting anything when I initially turned it on. But, when they did the player introductions, and I saw the Zim patch/pat by David Price, it made me think. And when I thought of Zim, then I was reminded of Gwynn. So, yes, I expected something from that point on. And no, it didn't have to be a 10 minute, produced piece. But, heck, for the announcers to not even SAY anything at any point in time?!?
July 17, 201412 yr This brings home my Jeter point if I'm starting a team in their prime I'm picking Tony over Jeter every day. But for some reason we ignore the death of legend and slober ( PP92 pun intended ) over Jeter. Jeter is a hall of famer but this good bye tour is a joke .
July 17, 201412 yr if I'm starting a team in their prime I'm picking Tony over Jeter every day. I'm not going to point out the reasons that this would be preposterous because it would be impossible to do so without denigrating a player that I LOVED, but I don't think you'd find a lot of support for this stance.

TG is my favorite baseball player of all time...and I agree. But Jeter is a close 2nd.
