June 28, 201412 yr What games do you plan on playing? Typically the table minimums on Friday night are $20. If you only have $100, you will be broke in less than two minutes. If you go during the day or early enough in the evening, you might be able to find a $15 minimum. If you don't plan on playing blackjack, you should be able to make the $100 last. Regarding dress code, wear whatever you're comfortable with. You will see a wide range of clothing styles. Wow, that's their table minimums? That's nuts. Guess the Indiana casinos don't have to worry so much after all.
June 28, 201412 yr I ate at Margaritaville once, it was pretty pricey but good food and large portions. I couldn't even finish my meal. You must be getting old.
June 28, 201412 yr Bobby's Burger Place has delicious burgers and shakes. And reasonable prices. Such a nice poker room too
June 28, 201412 yr Wow' date=' that's their table minimums? That's nuts. Guess the Indiana casinos don't have to worry so much after all.[/quote'] Yes, on a weekend or if there is an event in town. Way too high, in my opinion, but the tables are crowded so what do I know?
June 28, 201412 yr You must be getting old. Gotta watch what I eat a little more these days. The pounds don't come off as easy. :lol2:
June 28, 201412 yr Yes' date=' on a weekend or if there is an event in town. Way too high, in my opinion, but the tables are crowded so what do I know?[/quote'] Always on the weekends. Most of the time you have to wait for a seat.
June 28, 201412 yr I don't think I've ever seen a pamphlet at Horseshoe. Many of the dealers won't even tell you what 'the book' says anymore. Ask one who has an empty table when a pit boss is near. I hate it when people share tips and some are very helpful and others don't care. It would be hard for me to work like that!
June 29, 201412 yr Been to the Shoe several times on Sunday evening and there are $ 5 tables for most every game. There are a lot of new games that I do not even begin to know how to play. Anyone know where you can get some information on how those games are played? As my dad told me, the casinos are not putting in new games to be in the players favor. The new games have high odds in the casinos favor.
June 29, 201412 yr Wow, that's their table minimums? That's nuts. Guess the Indiana casinos don't have to worry so much after all. The business is really eating into Indiana's profits. I believe Hollywood is down 20% plus.
June 29, 201412 yr The business is really eating into Indiana's profits. I believe Hollywood is down 20% plus. They will find their own niche (smoking) and will do fine. They had things their own way for an awfully long time, probably much, much, longer than they ever dreamed possible.
June 29, 201412 yr Gotta watch what I eat a little more these days. The pounds don't come off as easy. :lol2: How well I know!
July 3, 201412 yr I don't think I've ever seen a pamphlet at Horseshoe. Many of the dealers won't even tell you what 'the book' says anymore. Every dealer in the casino wants you to win. The dealers are paid less than minimum wage, obviously, the more the player wins the more tips the dealer will get. If the dealers won't tell you what the book says, maybe the casino manager instructed the dealers not to give advice to the player. If this is the case, I've never heard of it happening before.
