I remember the ST. Thomas HS cheerleaders doing that cheer back when Mike Listerman was the "star" for the Tomcats. Unfortunately, that was a bit more than 25 yrs. ago.

Wow,take a chill pill !! This cheer was out long before Elder used it.

It sure is nice the way Highlands students travel and cheer for their team ! I sure hope they don't COPY any other cheers................:dancingpa

Wow, can't believe I got the guy all upset over a cheer.

Great game for the Birds, the Breds played good until they lost momentum. The officials had some really queationable calls tonight against the Birds, but we fought thru it and prevailed. Hudy was HUGE tonight, Ben got into the flow early as well.

 

Questionable calls you overcame? Like what? Gesenhues got called for blocking while dribbling the ball. I didn't even know that call existed. The refs were bad but they were bad on both sides. Don't act like they were one sided because they weren't.

They ARE smart, but that aside, how many original cheers did you hear this week?

 

I didn't get to see any CovCath games this week, so unfortunately, I didn't hear any original cheers. :banana:

Don't think I'm upset because I pointed out the obvious. Elder made the cheer famous, but feel free to use it if you wish, no copyrights on cheers. I guess I made the HHS faithful a bit upset though since five of you responded to my one innocent little post. :dancingpa

At the end of the first quater it was 7 fouls on us to 2 on NCC. One ref was blowing the whistle on anticipation calls, example Simpson steal at half court from behind. Example Vories, charge after the basket was made. The ref made the ref at half court dtermine possession from an out of bounds play under the goal. That was the play before Ben G stole and hit the big 3. Sorry about your 3 bad makeup calls they got you for.

I haven't heard the "Coach, coach, open the door" cheer for years it used to be followed immediately by "Where's our coach, where's our team? - Down in the Locker Room, building up steam!"

 

Some things stick with you forever!

Another cheer "incident" was one year when Boone County played NCC in a regional semis or finals and both student sections were there long before the teams came out and Boone County posed the question to the NCC students.

 

"We are White and We are Blue - We're the Rebels, Who are You?????"

 

At which time the NCC nation stood and cheered back for what seemed like an eternity - "We're The Thoroughbreds - We're Number One!!!!"

You are the one who posted! I guess you thought it was important to mention. I know a lot of you Elder fans are always looking to show your superiority in high school sports.

Amen to that one! When I first moved to Fort Thomas that one killed me and now it is one of my favorite!
