Kevin Love is one of the best rebounders in the league so not buying the Faried will get you rebounds argument.

 

Didn't say he wasn't a good rebounder. With Faried you know you won't get the offensive ability that Love brings night in and night out, that's a given. But you get at least as good a rebounder in Faried, more athleticism, higher motor, better defender. I'm not saying Faried is better than Love...but I believe there are circumstances he would be the better fit depending on the lineup.

 

I'm also not suggesting, as the title of this thread suggests that a straight up trade for each other is smart either.

Don't forget Love is in his last year of his contract, he ain't staying in Minny after this year if they don't trade him.

I think this is exactly what happens. No deal. And Minnesota will lose in the long run for it.

Exactly. Which is why they wouldn't be the same cog for every team. There are some teams/lineups where Faried might be more of what they need than Love. Some teams might not need a forward that you have to feed the ball to/run the offense through cause they have other spots on the floor to do that, but would benefit more from a high energy, good defensive "garbage guy" who, by the way is gonna chip in 10-15 points for you as well. I'm not saying Faried is better than Love, or even as good, I'm just saying what he brings to the table just may fit better for some teams, and EVERY team needs a player like him regardless.
