Spurs 107 Heat 86 Game Four NBA Finals

Featured Replies

Final from Miami.

Miami, Wade in particular, looked awful outside of LeBron.

San Antonio showed why they are the most complete team in the league when they are at the top of their game. They put on an offensive clinic in terms of sharing the ball and hitting the open man. You have to respect how their guys are selfless and seem to genuinely enjoy playing together.

The Heat have won their titles with defense. They have to find a way to slow down the Spurs offense or this one is over in game 5.

PP92 ... picking up on the Spurs are boring talk in the updates, based on your comments I would say you are not really a fan of basketball. You are a fan of athletic basketball players and highlight reel plays. You agree?

I would say you are wrong. Just because I am not a fan of what you like doesn't mean I am not a fan of basketball. Teams in the WNBA play the exact same way as the Spurs. If you don't watch the WNBA does that mean you aren't a fan of basketball?

From the update thread:

Everybody is different. Nothing wrong with that. I enjoy those things more at the high school level than at the professional level. Seeing kids do it is refreshing. I want highlight reels at the professional level.

^ I worded that wrong. Obviously you are fan of basketball. You are a fan of individual play more than team play?

I wouldn't say that either. I just think the Spurs are boring. It's like I said in the update thread, even their dunks are boring. Yes, they move the ball well and incorporate everyone in their offense. They are still boring. I love a good crossover and stepback jumper. I love a thundering tomahawk slam or a windmill from the baseline on somebody's head. You can play team basketball and still do those things. The Heat look like crap but they play team ball and move the ball well also. Just because the Spurs do it better than anyone in the world doesn't mean others don't do it. Even selfish Russell Westbrook averaged 8+ assists in the playoffs.

Forgive me me for not understanding why I am sinning against the great sport of basketball for thinking the Spurs are boring and not being enamored by their spectacular ball movement and total team unselfishness.

I'd much rather see ball movement and spacing than watching someone dribble in one spot for 22 seconds and then shooting a stupid shot but it is still as entertaining to me when they make that shot as it is when they make an extra pass to get a shot.

It is just like art. One person likes Dali. Another likes Rembrandt. I don't like Dali but a lot of people do. That play tonight where the Spurs kept passing up decent shots to make one more pass and the play ended in a Duncan dunk, I enjoyed that more than Leonard's dunk. You liked Leonard's dunk better.

Yes. Hell, I liked Leonard's missed dunk on Birdman better than Duncan's 5" vertical one handed slam after the extra pass.

I'm not a huge Spurs fan but love watching how they play.

Regardless of how they get it done, ever since Duncan has been there - Spurs = Dynasty.

It almost appears unfair. Almost like the Spurs are playing 6 on 5.

Nothing better than watching the Heat crap all over themselves.

Miami looked like Cleveland before LeBron left last night. And I loved it. Mario Chalmers sucks, Wade is old and when he doesn't get calls is 100% useless. The Heat get little to nothing from anybody other than the Big 3, and last night they only got something from 1/3 of that. I think I said it in the Heat/Pacers series, but Miami is very beatable when only LeBron has a big game. When others have big games in addition to LeBron, that's when trouble happens. The Heat have been nothing short of pathetic on defense in this series. They can't guard the Spurs with the smaller line up in, and they have been run out of the gym 2 out of 3 games, and the other one wasn't really in doubt either.

Go Spurs. Close this out on Sunday.
