How does not one Highlands kid make the Division II team and only 3 schools are even represented? WOW!!!!

 

Is there a 2nd team listed or even an honorable mention list? I am surprised that Highlands' SS isn't at least mentioned... I think he's the kid that was hitting over .600 right?

I completely understand that there is no possible way to make everyone happy or to include all players who are deserving but to have 2 players taking up 4 spots for Div II, COME ON. Also, as mentioned above, no Nick King, SILLY!

 

A also understand that the kids who have work hard and been offered spots with higher level college teams, were given those offers for a reason. However, it seams that every year, as soon as a kid is offered, he will be on every all-star team published. Very similar to MLB all star lineups, once a player achieves a particular "status", they will make the roster, even when they haven't played a large portion of the year due to injury. It just seems that whoever is voting on these list allow college offers to outweigh performance sometimes.

All good points! And as I asked earlier, are there no 2nd team honors?

I know there is div I and div II... But I thought there would still be 1st and 2nd teams for both divisions.

I'm positive I saw 1st and 2nd team lists for div II softball... Because I know kids on both lists.

Were the only coaches that voted in Division II from Beechwood, Ludlow and St. Henry? I would love for someone in the know to give us some idea as to who was even nominated, much like LB13 did for the Girls Softball.

I don't have answers to your questions, but the coaches of each team are supposed to nominate players from their team to be voted on. Then the list of nominees go to all the coaches to vote.

Coaches can not vote for their own players.

Just goes to show talent alone does not equate to winning. Beechwood has all the talent, but it sure did not show up at the region or against Conner this year.

 

It very much so equated to winning. BW had a very good record for the season but came up short in a few games. It's baseball. It happens. With the exception of Suchanek every BW player on the All Star team returns next year and four of them for the next two. That will also equate to winning most games. Not every game though. Who does that in baseball even with the best of lineups?

Because tbey are the best players, and had the best years? I assume youvare talking about the two Beechwood kids? Cmon man. There are some really good ones, but there are a couple special ones. Do youvwant them left off a list just so someone else can be on it?

I wasn't referring to any kids in particular, just making an observation. If it is posted that some kid got a D1 offer , you can mark it down that he will make every postseason all star list, regardless of the season he had or how his team may have fared. I don't suggest any deserving player be left out. My bigger complaint is when guys get on for multiple positions, taking spots from guys who are just as deserving (Nick King).

The title of the post is misleading. I don't believe this list has anything to do with the JR/SR game. It is the NKY all stars (regardless of class).

Would you not vote then on for two positions even if they deserved to be there just for the sake of someone else making it?
