Would you not vote then on for two positions even if they deserved to be there just for the sake of someone else making it?

 

I would if they were head and shoulders above everyone else in both positions. However, the players who were listed on multiple positions are known primarily for their pitching and it's not like they don't bat when they are pitching.

I agree that King should have been on the list somewhere.

As far as getting any special treatment because they are going D1, I would say that's not the case. Dunn is going D1 and he's not on this list. I know he batted .500 for the year with 13 or 14 doubles. He also played in the toughest district along with playing a demanding postion when not pitching. As I agree with the case for King, but I think a case could be made for Dunn also.

That is my point. Beechwood had all kinds of talent, but just having talent won't win a game. Who thought the Tigers would get run ruled in the 1st round of the region throwing their top pitcher? Not me, but Highlands came to play and Beechwood had a bad day and looked like they gave up in the third inning.

Who would have thought Tates Creek would lose Rd1? Sumon Kenton not only win district, but win a game in state with a great chance to win another? Its baseball. It happens, and in a one game setting anything can go.

Mason Forbes hit well above .425, as did the other two OF on the first team.

 

To OBs point, I guess you could have only named Cam Ross as either a P or OF, and given the other slot to another kid. King is a good player, but so are the kids on first team list.

I think what hurt King was the team was a 3rd into the season before Maxwell realized what he had. A incredible comeback story. I would put Ganns at 1st or Ross pitcher only. Ross because I think he was under .400 avg for the regular season and King had more wins than Ganns. I thought POY was between King, Combs and Ganns. We all probably all gave this much more thought than the coaches, lol

Baseball is a funny game that way. If you would have told me that BW would have beaten Dixie and Cov Cath in the same day (without Combs) after beating Bellevue in the morning I would have asked you to share what you are smoking. That is the great thing about baseball and the shock element of one and done tournaments.
