Pennick was non factor for the Panthers tonite and they really needed him to be.

Panthers need to bang more inside when they are facing a more guard oriented team. Ludlow hung tough for awhile, but the quickness and lack of ball control became a big problem.

A little surprizing, as I thought Dixie would win a close game; but would have thought Pennick could have been dominant inside tonight against Dixie, who has virtually no size?? How can a 6' 9" kid with D-1 skills disappear against 6'1" defenders??

Agreed, I thought he would be big match up problem for the colonels, instead he had 5pts and 7 rebounds. He didn't spend much time under the basket on offense or defense, he had a tough time coming out on the floor to guard Lawson.

I thought Penick would go for 20 and 15 against a pretty small Dixie team. Against CCH Dixie came out absolutely unconscious from the 3. They opened up something like a 13 point lead early then went a little cold. This is their kryptonite and it they are not hitting they are in trouble.

Also Penick seems to like to play facing the basket which boggles my mind. He is easily the biggest body in the 9th. That boy needs to plant himself on the block and shoot over people.

Great game even though the score doesn't really reflect it. Ludlow couldn't really stop Dixie's guards and that's what ended up killing them. When Logan was in for Ludlow, they seemed to be playing better. The kid does have talent, and hopefully he is in the starting line-up or at least getting more minutes when Ludlow goes to the regionals. Congrats to Ludlow on having a good season and good luck at Regionals!

 

I agree I hope Logan gets to start, from the games I have seen and from what I have heard from people he probably should have been starting all year, because the team usually seems to play better when he is in the ball game.

Well yes I think we all would rather him play down on the block more because it would help the team out because he probably would be able to dominate anyone down low in the ninth region if he just stayed down there because he is so athletic.

 

But him being so athletic for being that big is also the reason why he faces the basket more because he has the ability too. Thats why I think in College he will really do well because he will be able to get to play the 3 and the 4 so he can face the basket which he is more confortable at doing.

 

If he stays down low when they play in the region then Ludlow might give some teams some fits because he will be hard to stop and if they bring people down to double him then that would be leaving some of their good shooters open like Chase King, and Jarrett Rouse.

He hasn't stayed down there yet in his career, probably just a little late to start now Maybe if he stayed there once in awhile Ludlow wouldn't have been 1-12 or 13 in non D-III games this season.

Yeah I Know thats why I said IF he stays down low in the region games. I never said he would but if he were ever to decide to stay down low now would be the time.

Does anyone else question his shooting ability at the high school level, let alone D-1 ?! Unless major improvements on his shot are made this summer I don't see how he could have much offensive success playing the 3 in college.....

Rouse needs to just calm down a little when he plays. He had a lot of tunovers this last game and if he would just calm down and play he could help the Panthers out but instead he looks like he is playing nervous and not taking shots he should.

Dan actually had 5 points and 19 rebounds. Paper said 15 but he had 19.
