Predict Louisville's Record

Featured Replies

I'm with John....7-5. I do think 8-4 is more likely than 6-6, if I was going to give myself a little wiggle room.

I could buy that as well. The offense will hum, but I'm concerned about the new defense and just how well it comes together in the first year.

Regardless of 7 wins, 8 wins, or beyond, as a UL fan, you have to be excited about the schedule and looking forward to September 1st.

Yeah, I'm concerned with D as well. I don't think Grantham was our first choice, or at least I hope not.

8-4.

Tough schedule, new coach, new QB.

I'll take 7-5 in a new power conference.

Getting closer so it might be fun to dig this one back up. Prompted by ESPN's release of their preseason Football Power Index.

Said Index Can Be Found Here.

ESPN doesn't think much of the new defense and seems to be skeptical of the offense with an unproven QB. Hard to argue with that at this point, but I think Louisville will be better than predicted here.

While I think Louisville is certainly capable of doing better than that, the line between 9-3 and 7-5 -- or (ye gods) even worse -- is likely razor-thin given this schedule. Games that could break wrong or right -- like Miami, Syracuse, or NC State -- are what will determine that success.

Anyone having second thoughts on their prediction from a couple months ago?

I'm sticking it out at 8-4 with losses to Syracuse, Clemson, Florida State and Notre Dame.

FWIW, Indiana is 12 spots ahead of Louisville in that thing, so take ESPN's Power Ranking with a grain of salt. I'm more curious to see if people have changed their thoughts on Louisville's possible success or failure in the last two months.

What do you mean by last 2 months?

This thread sort of died out about two months ago. That was the last of any predictions.

I'm sticking with 8-4.

40-0!

Sorry, wrong thread.

8-4 feels about right the closer we get to the season opener.

7-5 or 6-6 if Kentucky can somehow get a win against them. Better step up on recruiting though or it will come back to haunt them in a few years.

Petrino, man... he loves to play the transfer market. We'll see if it can hold at this level.
