Coach Gray verified the reason behind the cancellations. Newport has to make up a seed game and the only day both them and Bellevue could agree on was Monday. Bellevue hasnt played Silver Grove in the conference yet, you are required to play all conference foes at least once. Ludlow players are disappointed but they understand after the explanation.

Yes, Bellevue won the game 6-5 in 8 innings. Anyone who was there may argue a bad call at first where the Bellevue kid never had the ball as Ludlow scored 2 runs, which would have made Ludlow the winner 7-6... But the umpire called what he called.

I'm confused about the reference to "conference" games. In what conference are Bellevue and Silver Grove both members of?? I know they are not in the same district or even the same region (Bellevue is in the 36th district/9th region, Silver Grove in the 37th district/10th region).

Coach Grey has done a great job with those players, why don't you focus on that for a while?

You get over it.. Coach Gray and his assistants wouldn't have gone so crazy if the call was correct. The 2nd baseman from Bellevue made a great play and the first baseman didn't have the ball. I saw it on the dirt as did the Ludlow Coaches. No one is whining either. I said "he called what he called" and it is what it is. I also never said Bellevue was afraid to play Ludlow. This time of year schedules get messed with to get in conference games... It's understood and no complaints. But don't come at me as if you were there and it was the correct call.... Blah blah. I know for a fact from seeing the play and talking to coaches and players (from both teams I might add).... The call was wrong. But, it's over and no one died. It's just a baseball game.

Why all the hate? Good luck to both teams in Districts which IMO matters more than a rivalry game.

Totally agree! All I did was to clear up a statement someone made about Ludlow winning. They didn't, Bellevue did. And Papa Bear had a problem with me saying "anyone who was there could argue the call". That by definition means: some people think the kid was safe and some people think the kid was out. The umpire said he was out and I accept it. I don't hate anyone. I support and enjoy Bellevue baseball. I have been around this game for many years and I am friends with certain parents, players and coaces on almost every team in NKY. But I will defend myself and my comments. Papa Bear came at me aggressively and again, I never said Bellevue was afraid to play Ludlow. I challenge anyone to find where I stated so.

Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference, Division III. The conference has a small, middle and big school division and encompasses schools from the 8th, 9th and 10th Regions.

The Division III Conference: Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Calvary, Heritage, Silver Grove, and Villa.

 

The conference championship in all sports perhaps is more important to the Div. III schools since they rarely have the ability to compete with the schools in districts and regionals that are in the larger divisions of the conference.

Ahhh. I know they give out awards at the end of the year based on that, but was not aware of any championship involved with it.
