Scott County 81 Henry Clay 70

We will miss you Aaron Dunaway. Good Luck in your college career.

The question, is it more shocking to have Henry Clay done before the region even begins, or Lafayette?

Good win for Scott Co.

For me, Henry Clay.

There were some very interesting statistics in this game. Scott County shot 58% from the field compared to 35.1% for Henry Clay. Scott County was 19 of 35 from the free throw line while Henry Clay was 14 of 25. Henry Clay actually attempted 27 more shots (77-50) from the field than the Cardinals because they held a 52-33 margin in rebounding including a 33-11 edge on the offensive boards.

Matt Walls led Scott County with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. Bud Mackey and Rodney Haddix added 19 points respectively. Cam Hundley played a key role off the bench with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Aaron Dunaway led Henry Clay with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Aaron Miller added 13 rebounds and 6 rebounds while Aaron Boyd chipped in with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Victor Moses recorded 8 points and 10 rebounds.

Someone mentioned in this thread about Dunaway's last game. The "warrior" has left the building as he has played his last game as a Blue Devil. He scored 28 points on 11 of 20 from the field including 2of 7 from beyond the arc and 4 of 7 from the free throw line and pulled down 12 rebounds. This caps a great high school career. Also lets not forget about another Henry Clay senior Aaron Miller who left it all on the floor every night and attempted to battle through cramps late in the game last night to finish a fine career. It was a great win for Scott County as they came to play and battled hard throughout the game. Congratulations to both teams and good luck to Scott County down the road.

I agree from a preseason ranking standpoint, however Henry Clay having to play Scott Co. while Lafayette having to play Dunbar I'd think Scott Co. was favored by a bit where as Lafayette was a heavier favorite over Dunbar. Still, this region has lost two pretty good teams now for the region tournament and yet there are still four or so quality teams to compete with. This region is just a very level and difficult one to get through.

A great team had to go home, Scott Co. survives and advances. Coach Hicks has to work a LOT harder to get to Rupp out of the 11th. ;):p

No longer a cake walk like it was in the 8th region......

Dunaway missed three FTs??? Call me shocked. The dude almost never misses, and if he does, it's one a game at the most.
