April 30, 201412 yr What if the owner who said "do not bring blacks....." was not Donald Sterling? Would they have meted out the same punishment? What if instead of "blacks" it was "gays" or "Asians?" Same punishment?

April 30, 201412 yr What if the roles were reversed. It being a black owner saying he doesn't want white people in his arena? I honestly don't think there would have been as big a deal made, in part, because it's the NBA which has a small percentage of NBA players but it's difficult to say.

What he did in the past is far worse than anything he said on that recording. Like it or not the NBA is/was worried about protecting it's imagine and brand more than they were worried about who felt discriminated against IMO. Along the way they got rid of that scumbag so it's a win win.
April 30, 201412 yr No. It wouldn't have been the same. Had it been any minority race saying anything like that about whites or another minority, nothing would have happened. With that said, this dude is a bigot...no doubt. I was listening to SVP yesterday afternoon, and he said it.."Not wishing death on this guy, but once people like him are gone (all races), the world will continue to get a little better." However, there is a huge double standard that our country continues to ignore. If racism is truly going to be defeated, there can't be double standards IMO.
