The upside to being 6 foot 9 would be playing tight end. If he's as good as an athlete as everyone says he is, tight and might make more sense. At that size he plays at any Division I school he wants to. Problem is, most coaches won't make the change for the athlete because they're thinking of the team. So many kids make the mistake of giving up one sport for another. I say play them all and see what happens.

At 6' 9" it's tough to have the necessary speed and agility to get in and out of cuts to run precise routes that are needed at the next level. Height is an asset in football, but that diminishes pretty quickly as you really don't see many guys above 6' 6". There have only been a handful of guys make it playing football at 6'9". If your that tall and athletic, you are better off focusing on basketball.

If you didn't see him play the last 5 games of the basketball season, you haven't seen him play basketball. He improved by leaps and bounds. I'll miss him in football but, it was his choice. So he is doing what he wants.

This was the same question last year after Tyler Durham graduated and Avery Wood stepped up and did a tremendous job at QB. I believe coach Lickert will have several kids trying out for the QB spot and I have faith in this coaching staff that they will award the job to the kid that gives them the best chance to win. Some are freaking out and writing us off because Matt Wilson isn't playing, I wish him well in basketball but he had no experience as a varsity QB. QB experience but not at the varsity level. One good thing is a lot of the O line is back so it should make it easier on whoever wins the QB job. If your looking for names at the QB position, I would be guessing but I do know this coaching staffs goals haven't changed and they are going to work relentlessly to achieve them!:thumb:

Not going to lie, I was looking for names. Reason being is you usually hear about an underclassman who had done well at the jv or freshman level. That hasn't happened this year with the Camels because so much focus was put on Wilson.

I don't think they will have a QB as good as last year.

Haven't seen Matt in football, but he has loads of promise in basketball. He is an absolute beast on the boards.
