Not going to lie, I was looking for names. Reason being is you usually hear about an underclassman who had done well at the jv or freshman level. That hasn't happened this year with the Camels because so much focus was put on Wilson.

He was projected to be the starter this year but has decided not to play and focus on basketball. Camels football will survive, I can promise you that if Matt played this year, he would of had to earn that starting spot. This coaching staff isn't going to hand a starting job to anyone. All this talk about players not playing this year, I will simply say this, I wouldn't want a kid on my team without his heart into it. Give me kids that play and train with heart and passion. When adversity hits, I know which kid I want in the foxhole with me.

I think you answered the question yourself? To add to that, when the news came out about Wilson not playing there was nothing. Usually teams have adequate backups "waiting for the call", but it has been complete silence in the Camel camp. Although Woods was the QB last year, there was a lot of talk of Wilson"s ability, that's all I meant. I'm sure his size added to some of the hype, but that's not deciding factor of who is the best football player, as we all know.

The decision last year came down to the wire and I would expect the same this year. To predict a QB this early in the game would only be speculation. The coaching staff will make sure that they have the right kid in the spot.

 

The last two QBs were not projected QBs at all. Durham came in part way through the season after playing TE and Defense. Wood was a utility player that was a two year starter at TE that answered the call last year.

 

No matter who the QB will be the Camels will be fine.

Avery was a tough qb. They won't have one as good as him.

I know the family personally. He was measured at 6'9 in shoes recently.

 

Sounds about right. Dixie heights Hedger measured 6'6 in shoes Wilson had 3 inches on him.

I don't care who the qb is I'm not a Camel fan. Just saying the next QB probably won't be as good as Avery.
