Where does he live? I live 8-10 minutes from Boyle County High School and 15 minutes from Lincoln County High School.

Out towards or in Perryville. He remarried after coming to Lincoln County. His wife teaches in the Boyle County district and they will have three kids in the Boyle County system.

He went through a lot last season, off the field, that was unwarranted and unfair for any coaching staff. They faced baseless accusations from a couple of fronts.

Mike is a really good guy and is good for kids. This is a good, positive move for him and it is a good pick-up for Boyle County.

And, this was 100% his doing. Despite having six straight losing seasons, Lincoln County's Principal Tim Godbey was standing behind Mike because of his positive interaction with the kids. He was not forced out. He saw this as a better opportunity, when all things were considered, and made the move after a lot of thought.

I am sorry to see Coach Settles resign. He truley is a fine Christian man who always treated the kids with respect. What he had to deal with over the past couple of years would weigh on anybody. His overall record may not have been that good, but he worked so hard with what he had to try to get the most out of his players. Some of the things that a few of his players (and their parents) said about him is the past, they should be ashamed of. He always had their best interest at heat. He will be missed!

Any ideas as to who will get the job?

Josh Jaggers would and should be the top candidate if he is interested. He grew up in Lincoln County, played there. His dad led Lincoln to the state finals. He probably knows a ton of people there.
