Girls Sweet Sixteen

Featured Replies

I'm pulling for Glasgow to pull the double, win the All "A" and the Sweet Sixteen.

They are my local 4th Region team and I used to teach with Coach Stinson at Monroe County.

E-Town or Anderson County IMO will hoist the banner.

Got to support my 10th region winners GRC Cardinals. Goddot can you tell us something about your team? Thanks.

I've seen Glasgow play and they are very athletic. Not sure they can beat E-town or Anderson Co. though.

GRC and Glasgow would be a great game with a super matchup between 2 very talented post players. I can't remember the girls name from Glasgow, but she can play, as can Skinner from GRC.

Just so long as it's not Butler (no class) or Sacred Heart I don't care who wins but would like to see it be Etown or Henderson.

Etown could be Marion-like in their domination of the state next year...give somebody else a turn this year :)

Don't sleep on the Lafayette Lady Generals! This group of young ladies are playing one game at a time, not overlooking ANY opponent and they are very hungry. Dee Givens a 5'11 do it all Jr. is playing out of her mind and with the recent surge by freshman Kiara Pankins, this team is going to be hard to beat. Not to mention they have a front line that many teams can't match up with. IMO. From what I've heard about Glasgow, this 1st round match up could possibly be the best game of day 1. Maybe the tournament but who knows? After all, it is March!

The four team block of Lafayette vs. Glasgow, and Ncc vs. Butler is brutal. Whoever makes it out of those four teams to the final four, if they have anything left, I would put again anyone in the state. Should be two really good games.

If they are lucky enough to get past Glasgow, Louisville Butler is a TOUGH 2nd round draw. But then again, that is why they play on the court, not on paper.

In other words....You want to be the best, then beat the best!

Sacred Heart will try to do just that. First up Elizabethtown, then most likely Anderson County.

We will be competitive with E'town and we beat Anderson County in the LIT.

Out of the 16 teams playing at Diddle this week, I have watched Glasgow, Sacred Heart, Lafayette, Etown, Butler, Anderson, Shelby Valley, Danville and Clark all play this year. In my opinion, ETown and Butler were clearly the top 2 teams I have watched.

That's probably a pretty crowded limb... haha

I liked them a whole lot more before Thomas hurt her knee...still think they have a chance but it's obvious she's not at 100%

No prediction now on the hoisting of the banner, but when (not if) these two teams square off in their second round game, it should be an outstanding game.

One thing is for sure. Elizabethtown is heavily favored by many and have to handle that pressure on their shoulders. Sacred Heart being the underdog can come into this game loose and ready to go. Don't be surprised if the Valkyries pull off the upset. SHA is playing well and are at full strength. This is one of the marquis first round games of the sweet Sixteen.
