I've mentioned it before but now I wonder how many members of BBN are now starting to question Cal's ways.

He has always seemed more concerned with getting his recruits to the NBA than winning at Kentucky and the last 2 years have really shown some serious problems with recruiting only the one and done types. It's not every year you will recruit a true leader like Kid-gilchrest or Anthony Davis type of players, the last 2 years have shown how bad young teams in College can perform when they are only concerned with their future in the league.

Cal has said himself he is there to fulfill the kids dreams of getting to the NBA and he hates things such as the SEC tournament etc. Cal seems to forget he is coaching UK, not an NBA agent. His job is to win SEC tournaments and get to final 4's. He seems to forget the fans love the SEC tourneys etc.

I just wonder how much leeway Cal still has in Lexington.

We'll see. If UK goes through another season next year like the last 2 then I would suspect some rumblings start up.

I'm not saying Cal needs to go, I don't want anyone else at the helm. I just think his priorities may need some changing.

Please make it stop! No and next year it will be no, the year after that it will be no, every year it will be no. So No!

So everyone is fine with his #1 priority getting kids to the NBA instead of winning championships at UK?

Everyone is fine with comments such as "Free throw shooting is not a concern" or "Randel should of taken himself out of the game" at the end of the Arkansas game because he didn't feel it was the coaches responsibility to take playrs, especially young fresh,an out of games when they need to be etc.

Interesting.

I guess people seem to change their views from what they think during the games in the game threads lol.

I'd rather try to win with the best talent possible then hope for him being able to coach somebody up 2 years after they get here.

"Free throws are not a concern"

I really don't think Cal feels that way. I think he says it to take away pressure for the players that are struggling from the line.

Id also like to see what freshman free throw shooting percentage is across the NCAA. Maybe it's a youth thing

I'm with you in getting the best talent. The problem is the "best talent" is in the eyes of the beholder. Evaluating talent from the HS game to the college game is tough, same as from college to the NBA etc. Harrison twins clearly aren't nearly as good as the evaluators thought they were, same as Archie last year. Freshman, especially 3-4 of them starting at this level very rarely equate to championships and when you only have them 1 year then what happened this year and last year will be more of the norm than not.

Its not his recruiting that bothers me, it's his priorities of getting his recruits to the NBA over winning championships. He needs to remember what his job is and it's not as an NBA agent. He also needs to tech his kids and get them to improve over the season. The last two years he has failed to do that and that is all on coaching, not the players.

Getting top recruits is one thing, but if you can't get them tomp,ay like top recruits and you only have them for 1 season, then what good is it doing?

Shouldn't coaches number one priority be making their players dreams come true? Cal knows what's important and it's getting the players ready for the future not trying to fulfill career accomplishments like most coaches. 17 NBA players in the past 4 years, that's what good he is doing.

Also Hellbird I don't post in update threads because I'll say something stupid in the heat of the moment.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular. Just replying from the posts I have seen in there.

You do the smart thing. I unfortunatley can't do that in bengals threads lol
