NKYBBCA All-Stars Named

Who on the team should be replaced and which CCH player takes his place?

The last thing I'm going to do is start singling out kids that should be axed from the list. If you watched these teams play this year you (plural you, not YOU) can draw your own conclusions. To answer your latter question, Mark Schult and CVH would be given heavy consideration.

Kuntz is the best shot blocker. It is easy to stand under the basket and block shots. Kuntz gets most of his block shots chasing the dribbler on a fast break off the glass.

I'd have to disagree. I would have to agree with Mr Sixer, Colin Hathorn is a machine. I think it comes down to Senior vs Junior and maybe the powers that be expect Colin to get the award next year, but he was by far imo the best this year.

You obviously have not seen much of Colin other than the SK game. Colin does both and in fact a solid portion of his blocks come from chasing players from behind. It's all good, Kuntz is solid in his shot blocking and a great athlete so it's a matter of opinion.

.......

CovCath goes 25-1 and undefeated in KY with only 1 of the top 12 players in NKY? Heck of a job by Coach Ruthsatz. :thumb:

And Dixie, Campbell Co and Ryle each get two players...... It must have been the coaching MentschoikkemoiweijkhklioedodwksifmdmodaoifLacht!

All very good players listed....

In DII, NCC got 4!

So we still can't separate Ruthsatz and Hatton. I guess they are both just that good. Congrats to anyone making this list, very impressive and well earned.

This is insane. who votes for this?

I would say him and Marcus hill

Hatton also won KABC player of the year for the ninth region where he will be honored at Rupp Arena during the Sweet Sixteen. I believe this award is for seniors only. Congratulations to all these young men and their accomplishments.

Who should take any of their place's on this list?

Excellent point and I hadn't even noticed until you mentioned it. IMO it's a very solid list of players in DI, but CovCath ran the table against the other eight schools in DI, and yet only had one player among the 12 best at these nine schools? Hmm. I guess Ruthsatz did do a whale of a job.

Or maybe CovCath is just so deep that they have four or five more players that would be in the top 20, but none quite able to crack the top 12?

You could make an argument either way on this one, and I'd be good with it. In DI, nine big schools are nominating their best for only 12 spots, some good players are going to be left off however you slice it.

I think it's a good list, and before anyone gets their feathers ruffled, I'm just answering the question. IF you replace anyone it would be one of the two lowest vote getters (Schreck or White) with Schult from CovCath.

Disagree with removing Schreck. As a guard he was the leading rebounder for his team. He is a multi-tooled player who can do it all. He can score when needed, gets rebounds, will make the hustle play, is one of the best passers on the team, takes care of the basketball, and has some solid ability to defend. He is 6'2 and can play the 1-3. He was pretty decent this year, and IMO will really burst onto the scene next year when he is asked to do more.

The head coaches of each of the respective teams within their division. They cannot vote for their own players. The number of players on each team is based on the number of teams within their division. There are 9 teams in Division I, therefore 8 different head coaches each had a vote on all of their opponents' teams.
