uk#1fan Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Johnny Manizel ran a 4.56 40 but only measured in at 5'11.
Voice of Reason Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Johnny Manizel ran a 4.56 40 but only measured in at 5'11. 5' 11 3/4" - that is 6' IMO. He also has really big hands for his size. His hands are bigger than Bridgewater's and Bortles'. Many scouts say they would trade 2-3 inches for the bigger hand size. I think Manziel's stock has gone up at the combine.

00Rocket28 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Am I the only one who finds it weird the guy spotting on bench hugs and cups a pec on every dude who benches? :lol2:
00Rocket28 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Tre Mason is a beast. Busted out a 4.44 in the 40
00Rocket28 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Silas Redd with a pedestrian like 4.68. That's gonna hurt him

Clyde Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Clowney ran a 4.47 and a 290-pound DL from Pitt ran about a 4.65. Crazy. Here's cool video of Clowney and others matched up. Jadeveon Clowney Ran a 4.47 at the NFL Combine [update: GIFs] | The Big Lead

Jadeveon Clowney Ran a 4.47 at the NFL Combine [update: GIFs] | The Big Lead Jadeveon Clowney outta be banned by the league for too much potential! I realize Houston needs a quarterback, but with the quarterback learning curve being a slow process, they can fill in this void through free agency. What am I missing here? Houston has a chance to draft Jadeveon Clowney and put him opposite JJ Watt. If I was an opposing quarterback to those two freaks, I would fake an injury BEFORE the game to prevent getting a career threatening injury during the game. Houston's defense would be scary.
George Amberson Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Johnny Manizel ran a 4.56 40 but only measured in at 5'11. Why is anyone surprised at the height? Everyone know he was going to be right around 6 feet. As others mentioned, hand size is much more important IMO as he clearly gets the job done despite his height. Crazy he has bigger hands than Bortles who has about 6 inches on him.

I'm no expert but that might very well be my thinking as well. It's been proved over and over that good QBs can be picked up after round 1. If they're thinking that none of the QBs are can't-miss franchise guys, they should probably go with Clowney. That being said, there's a reason so many lousy teams picking high in the draft are where they are. Bad quarterbacks.
Clyde Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 If you take Clowney #1 you are HOPING he learns how to play hard consistently and you are HOPING he gains maturity off of the field. That's a lot of HOPE for the #1 overall.

That's a lot of HOPE for the #1 overall.
