Just a thought .. Maybe because he has a kid on the team, who has friends on the team and in the school, he was too close and accessible to the other parents. The perceived TCM influence. Not saying that was true. It might be why they went a different direction.

I'm in Mikes corner! I know he doesn't play favorites. I'm only trying to be in Turner's head trying to figure out why Mike wouldn't get the Job. That's the only thing I can come up with. That's why I said "perceived". Nobody with a personal ax to grind should have been on the committee. That same mentality is partially why Bryson is gone. So Maybe the coaches being influenced isn't the problem. Maybe Turner is getting to much in his ear from the TCM. After all he had and has the final say.

DING DING DING, we have a winner you nailed it Nation people don't always look at the upper administration but lets not forget he has a son on this team as well. All and the TCM is real and yes they do throw around their weight with Turner and he obliges them. I am not saying that I would have made Mike my first choice, if I was going to open it up then I would have went after some coaches with HC experience or maybe someone who had rebuilt a program and such or maybe at least contacted say Bill Letton who is available and has a son that is a D1 player. But if I am going with assistant coaches, well then it is a no brainer to hire Mike Woolf he deserved his shot and has been loyal to the school for over 10 years. Also no one wants to look at the fact that lets say they keep none of the current coaches. It is not like you have a ton of teaching openings to hire a coach. Harden is a PE teacher and so is the baseball coach. Woolf teaches social studies so maybe they will have some openings but it is not in their formula to go out and hire a bunch of coaches. Woolf and Harden are the only two in the building. If new coach is a teacher in the building, he may be the only one in the building and will have major issues if he has to feel an entire staff with just para-professionals. JMO

I can say that many parents over the past couple of years have done this in all sports from all the info I have received. A shame, teach your child to work harder. If he is good he will see the field period. I mean this team did go to state finals in 2007 and state semis in 2010. So the defensive coordinator of these teams had nothing to do with this?? Mommies and daddies don't want their poor Johnny to be pushed but yet want him to be the star or want him to play this position because he was great in youth league. What a joke. A new coach will not change these peoples mentality. Woolf should have been the choice but oh well best of luck I guess.

SOAPBOX :

Sports are suppose to be pure, meaning no socioeconomic influences, racism, sense of entitlement. The only influences on the players are that of themselves. You have some talent, work hard and you get playing time. Better at a position than everybody else, you play that position. Help your teammates to get better, support one another, you get your teammates adoration and a bonding for a lifetime. Your economic station in life might get you prestige in the boardroom. On the field it means squat. How dare anyone interfere by thinking your station in life qualifies you to interfere with the pureness of sport. What kind of message are you sending to your kids. What's funny is that the parents that I know that have done this, have kids that are barely average HS ballplayers and have no chance at being recruited. But an overzealous parent wants to stand in the way of a kid who has the chance, but his parents don't have the contacts or the pull the others might have. Not to mention the Hint of racism. Shame on you if you are one of these parents. You have done injustice to the game, yourself, and your kid.
