January 31, 201412 yr Three biggest snubs all have ties to the area....DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis in the West, and Lance Stephenson in the East.
January 31, 201412 yr I know Kobe has come out and said that he believes it is silly he is on the squad. That is the first spot which will open.
January 31, 201412 yr Re: Boogie - 23 and 11 doesn't get you in? Howard, by comparison, is 18 and 12.
January 31, 201412 yr Re: Boogie - 23 and 11 doesn't get you in? Howard, by comparison, is 18 and 12. Pretty crazy. The guy is 10th in points per game and fifth in rebounds per game in the entire league. Should be in.
January 31, 201412 yr Re: Boogie - 23 and 11 doesn't get you in? Howard, by comparison, is 18 and 12. I just read this stat on KSR. Boogie and Davis are the first players with a 26 or higher PER (Player Efficency Rating) to be left off the all star team since Kareem in 1978. They sit 5th and 6th currently in PER in the entire NBA.

January 31, 201412 yr Re: Boogie - 23 and 11 doesn't get you in? Howard, by comparison, is 18 and 12. Many may rip me for this but IMO Howard is one of the most over hyped players of the last 20 years. He is big, fast and athletic, but his actual basketball skills are lacking and he may be one of the least skilled All-Pro's of All-Time!!! IMVHO

IMVHO Even if they were all the same age, I'd definitely take Big Cuz and Davis before Howard if I were starting a team. Like you said, howard is basically just a freak athlete with limited basketball skills. Davis and Cousins are both a lot more skilled than him IMO and better basketball players in general.

His offensive game has never improved and he is about as reliable as Shaq at the FT line. Low intangibles as well. In fairness, Boogie's intangibles seem to be lacking also.

January 31, 201412 yr Glad DeMar DeRozan made it, he's have a really nice year. Derozan was another player I was a little surprised who was left off the USA 28 man roster. I think the 3 biggest snubs were Derozan, Wall and Parsons.
January 31, 201412 yr Three biggest snubs all have ties to the area....DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis in the West, and Lance Stephenson in the East. Completely agree!!!
