Yea, that case is so screwed up. They have 1 guy already in prison for basically admitting he did the killing, yet Amanda and this other guy are being convicted of the same crime, basically with zero proof. Pretty messed up.

I was shocked it went to trial, yet again, and am even more shocked they found her guilty.

If it were our justice system this would have never gone to trial based upon the small amount of evidence, let along a murder conviction. Our justice system is out of whack, but we also take for granted in what we have compared to others.

February 1, 201412 yr I wouldn't say no chance as a lot will depend on the US/Italy extradition relationship and history. There's a reason those agreements are in place. I'm sure if the roles were/are ever reversed, US citizens will be screaming for the return of a supposed killer. That said, i think the chances are slim she is extradited.

Sure we can but we'd better be prepared for the same answer at some point. Remember we're talking international agreements, although I have no idea if we have an agreement with Italy.
February 1, 201412 yr Does anyone know what happens if she again appeals the verdict and it is again set aside? How many times can she be tried? What is the highest judicial authority in Italy? Even though there have been examples of people who have gotten away with serious crimes (including a very infamous murder in Louisville) based on the protections against double jeopardy we have, this is a great illustration of why it is good to have those protections.
