Following their loss to Mason Co, and considering the way they are playing lately, I'm surprised Lexington Catholic is still considered a Top 20 team. They have great results from their holiday tournaments, but don't seem to be playing very well lately.

Nothing jumps out as being grossly incorrect. I think 7, 8,, and 9 are a tossup anytime they play.

My one question would be how do we know how good Wayne County really is?

We won't until February until their schedule beefs up and they play Knott County Central(2/8), Lexington Catholic(2/21) and Montgomery County(2/9).

That by itself would keep me from ranking them in the top 20. If it's February before you play a tough opponent I've got a lot of questions.

They could be great. Without eyeballing them I can't tell if they're even "pretty good" by their schedule.

To an extent, it's hard to tell. Most impressive wins were the 11 point victory over Lincoln County & the 29 point drilling of Bryan Station. Station is up-and-down, but they've shown they can give some of the top dogs all they want (2 point loss to Lafayette & 3 point loss to Scott County).

Should get a better idea of this team with the Montgomery County game a week from Saturday & a game vs. LexCath to end the regular season.

Forgot that KCC game on the 8th.

One of the last two undefeated teams in the state??? We learned last year that you have to acknowledge undefeated teams this late in the season or your rankings lose credibility. :D

They have defeated #14 Lincoln County, they defeated a Southwestern team that Cantrall and Litkenhous love to rank every week and they destroyed Bryan Station by 29 points. I'm not saying that those wins give Wayne a tough schedule but I am saying that Wayne began the season ranked in our top 20 at 20 and they have yet to lose so naturally they will rise as the season progresses.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see them to beat all three of the 'tough' teams they face this month.

I feel you. I just like to see teams that are tested to get a good read on them.

As I said that's my only question about the rankings.

Same here. Definitely makes it easier to rank them. There is no doubt in my mind that Wayne is worthy of their ranking. They have a nice squad.

Wayne's win over Lincoln is probably better than any of Holmes wins, and their throttling of Bryan Station and win over Southwestern are both quality results as well.

While their overall schedule is on the weaker side, a school that isn't "pretty good" would not have the results they have had.

I don't know that Wayne Co is better than Montgomery Co, Holmes or Covington Catholic, but their results certainly justify them being ranked as high as any of those teams.

Hopkinsville is IMPRESSIVE. No doubt about it.

Wayne's win over Lincoln is probably better than any of Holmes wins,

Having seen neither Lincoln County or the teams Holmes beat in NY I can't say you're right or wrong. However, I have seen Holmes play which I cannot say about Wayne. I know what they are capable of. I don't know what Caldwell Co is. As I stated they may be great. I just can't tell from their schedule.

Am I the one person that believes that Trinity might just be the #1 team in the Commonwealth?
