Cov. Cath 56 Brossart 52

You certainly can't fault the effort by Brossart tonight!! Down by 14 in the third, they cold have folded the tent; but fought back to take the lead, but couldn't hold it. I think CovCath's senior leadership and deeper bench was the difference tonight. A great game by two very good teams. BB has to start finding a way to put up some W's, and quit winning "moral victories", although their losing streak is against some pretty fine teams!!

As for all the Campbell gloaters, never have I seen a school four times the size of their "little neighbor", have more delight in the misfortunes of others?? If I was a fan of a 4-A school with a 9-14 record (4-10 in 2006), in my "Dynasty Dream Team's" Senior year; I don't think I'd give a second thought to some little 1-A school's (who BTW my DDT's never beaten) season; I'd be far more worried about my problems!! For your info you can spell them S-C-O-T-T!!!! :D

BG I saw a couple of you're comments on another thread, although not specific, you indicated PC had help to defeat Franklin. You were probably at this game and didn't even see PC's game so why don't you comment on the officials in Brossarts game? Seems like Cov Cath had to overcome a lack of fouls called on the Mustangs.I know the kind of defense BB plays and when the other team doesn't go to the line until late in the fourth quarter somethings wrong.Assuming all the statements on this thread are correct.

The debate between a cheerleader's mom standing on the court before the game and Tony Roch "laying out on a beach towel" court-side was a Perfect 10 on the unintentional comedy scale.

I asked Tony about talking to the cheerleaders mom. He told me that he and the cheerleader used to be very good friends and hadnt seen each other in a while. He said he was just catching up with the family. Great kid, wouldnt be caught dead disrespecting an adult. Just being friendly chatting while doing a little sunbathing

No, no, no, I wasn't inferring that Tony would be disrespectful. It looked like the mom was giving him the business -- I am aware of Tony being a "great kid." :thumb:

I was laying out along side Tony and the mother asked us if we needed suntan lotion.

My only post on the PC/Franklin thread was asking where the game was played, so that's a pretty good indication that I wasn't there; and I've no clue where you saw several of my posts suggesting PC had help in their win????????? Pendleton has a great team, and I seriously doubt needs help to defeat Franklin, taking nothing away from them, least I be accused of slamming them??

In talking to several CCH parents after the game, they didn't think they had been "homered"; so I'm not sure why you would have a better take on that than they did?? CCH's big men were having some problems with Cooper, and got some fouls--Big deal?? They played a great game and made the shots when they had to. Congrats to CovCath, and good luck in the districts and regions!!

I made the comment during our broadcast at the midway point in the third quarter that CovCath hadn't been to the free-throw line yet in the game and again late in the fourth quarter when Brossart only had committed two fouls that we would probably need to commit a few fouls in order to put the Colonels on the line to shoot the bonus if we remained behind.

If the exact same game were played in Park Hills would the fouls have been better balanced - maybe, but I don't remember commenting or thinking to myself that we were getting away with, or gaining an advantage with excessive contact. I do remember commenting that Nathan Mutsch probably got away with an over-the-back on a tip-in. So did the CovCath guys.

CovCath has a track record of not shooting many free-throws. I heard the CovCath broadcast team remark that they had only shot one free-throw at Elder.

The officials that are assigned to our games are not 10th Region Officials - there is no such thing. They are Bluegrass Officials Association officials who work both 10th and 11th Region games and most come from Lexington, Richmond, and as far away as Berea, Winchester, or Mount Sterling, and some as near as Maysville or Cynthiana. These guys are just as likely to work a LaFayette/Dunbar game as they were to work the Brossart/CovCath game.

CovCath had a fourteen point lead just into the third quarter. Brossart clawed their way back into it and briefly (47-46) got the lead. I don't think officiating had anything to do with that. Had the Colonels been beaten I think that they would have blamed themselves for failing to preserve that 14 point lead, free-throws or not, and not the officials.
