January 25, 201412 yr Just checked the GFS model run outlook into next week. Right now, looks like we will have more snow during the Sun.-Mon.-Tues time period. Then a little break on Wednesday. Then late Thursday into Friday we have a chance of snow and ice. Seriously? Like Mon 1/27-1/29? I've got to get some school work done with my AP kids. I'm more than a bit worried.

I tell them all the time that the test date won't change, so we HAVE to cover the material by a certain date. They will not be happy with the homework they will get.
January 25, 201412 yr Well today is going to be a day of raw nerves for me. I just found out my kids both have to come to Louisville today for something their dad's family insists they be here for. Coming from Evansville and Hardinsburg, KY. I'm already sick with worry, and they haven't even left yet.

Looking out my window to Taylorsville Road, it has greatly improved already from earlier this morning.

In Indiana on I-64 in Perry and Crawford Counties, they do not treat I-64 well at all. I have driven that route before and literally watched semis slide off the road in front of me. I just called the INDOT line and the roads are reported with Difficult driving conditions, ice, windy conditions and blowing and drifting snow. I know there will be blowing snow...but that area, the drifting snow often hides those icy conditions which can stretch for miles and miles.

I forget that Louisville does much better than most places at keeping roads in good conditions...
January 25, 201412 yr I forget that Louisville does much better than most places at keeping roads in good conditions... KENTUCKY does a much better job than Indiana. All I can figure is if you're a Hoosier, you're born with some sort of special driving stamina...at least in Southern Indiana. Although the reports I see from Bloomington, Indianapolis, Northern and Northwestern Indiana don't make me really change my opinion much about the whole state. :lol:

They will not be happy with the homework they will get. My 5th grader was supposed to have 3 tests last week. So on the snow days we were studying and studying.... Now it's all pushed to next week. I'm so sick of reviewing geometry, the Revolutionary War, and the science weather unit. Most especially the weather unit!

I've been putting off shoveling all morning & now I look out to see my favorite brother in law shoveling my walk & driveway!
