I’m not sure where all of the “reporting” has been coming from but let me try and bring some facts into the discussion. The quoted post is 100% incorrect.

 

The job was offered to one candidate. The candidate accepted the position. A hire was made and the new head coach has already been attending winter workouts. The new head coach is Brady Dowling who is a great hire.

Never coached a down? Big deal...it's HS Frosh football, for crikey's sake. Even at Highlands! You gotta start somewhere. I do know Brady and know he grew up in the HHS system and was a very good player and student. He's passionate, articulate, and cares about the Bluebird intangibles. Besides, Dale can mentor him since he won't have anything to do after school anymore!

The only way I could see this happening is if there weren't enough applicants to fill the position. I wouldn't think this would be the case for the head frosh job at Highlands.. Like I said before seems crazy to me. To each his own and I am sure the Baby Birds will be fine..JMO

Christian academy of Louisville hired Stefan Lefors as HEAD COACH with no experience so I think this freshman guy will be OK.

I personally don't get the whole in the building thingy. If there are better candidates that are not in the building then I would think you would take the best candidate. I think that this is a push from the administration. Like having coaches of all sports in the building if they can help it.

Yeah the job description said "Prefer certified staff member of Fort Thomas Independent Schools", not mandatory. And with the job opening just being posted two days ago has a lot of people wondering. There were probably no applications submitted yet, hence the questioning. I'm hoping that changes in the very near future. If Brady has been hired, that is awesome. He will do a great job and congrats to him. But there still is an assistant coach opening that HHS is trying to fill in the public sector. I'm guessing something will be announced at the Banquet about either the Freshman Head Coach or both.

Stefan was an assistant somewhere else before he got the head coaching job wasn't he? I don't beleive Brady has ever been an assistant on any level..Does this mean he won't be a good head coach? I don't know but this is Highlands football not Dayton. From the things I hear he could be a good coach down the line. But to have zero coaching experience on any level bothers me..

No Stefan was a radio guy for a time after his playing career ended. You are creating a problem where none exists.
