I didn't realize until a couple years ago that you are welcome to bring your own cooler/snacks/food to the park. There are restrictions, but it is at least another option for families looking to bring the crew to the park and save a little on the budget. Honestly, I am surprised they allow it. GABP A-Z Guide Bottles and Cans No glass bottles or cans may be brought into Great American Ball Park. Guests are welcome to bring in soft drinks and water provided they are in clear plastic bottles and the safety seal has not been broken. Insulated foam cups/containers from restaurants, convenience stores or gas stations, etc. are not permitted. Alcoholic Beverages are also prohibited from being brought into Great American Ball Park. Coolers Guests are welcome to bring SOFT-SIDED coolers into Great American Ball Park provided the coolers' dimensions do not exceed the 16" x 16" x 8" inch Major League Baseball size requirement. HARD-SIDED coolers of any size are PROHIBITED from entering the ballpark. Coolers and all carry-in items are always subject to inspection by Reds personnel prior to entrance to the ballpark or at any time while inside the ballpark. The Reds are not responsible for HARD-SIDED coolers that are left outside of the ballpark gates. Guests are strongly encouraged to return their HARD-SIDED coolers to their vehicles. January 17, 201412 yr I went to several games last year but this stuck with me: My dad, brother, and I get to the game sit in the club section with all you can eat food. We eat before the game and as the game starts I buy the first round of beer so right at $25 and tip a couple bucks. My brother gets the next round same scenario plays out. We finish those up and the beer man comes back around and Dad says boys I think I'm done drinking. I loved it and shook my head at the same time.

I go to anywhere from about 5 to 10 games a year. I am lucky in that I always get free tickets. We take the family of 4 and I always pack a cooler. I have a backpack cooler I take in. Almost always, we bring in subway, pringles, water and soft drinks. Usually stop at Kroger and pick up some peanuts. Maybe buy an ice cream when we are in stadium. I usually park by the Bellevue Frisch's and take the shuttle over. It's a great way to spend time with family and very reasonable for us.

January 17, 201412 yr I usually luck out as well on the ticket side so splurging on a couple of beers isn't too bad. I will have Dad get the 1st round though next time.
January 17, 201412 yr Best deal going is the O'Doul's for $1. You have to go to the Fan Accommodation Station and sign up that you are the designated driver AND they are not available at all stands, but $1 brews are pretty handy. If you're going for the "buzz," take a flask in and take a hit of bourbon for free with every O'Doul's.
January 17, 201412 yr MJ, what is the average tip for those $8.25 brews? Uhh, at $8.25 a beer, it would be the rest of that $9.00 for me.
January 18, 201412 yr If you walk the Travelodge bridge to the game there is always a guy at the end of the bridge that sells bottled waters for $1 and a nice size bag of peanuts for $3. For $5 you can drink one on the walk to the gate and still have a water and bag of peanuts for the game.
