NFL Blackout Rule

Featured Replies

Ticket prices are $86 and $96 for Sunday's game, which, I believe, is the league minimum.

Ticket revenue is part of the revenue-share program in the NFL, which is why (as frankdracman23 referenced) the team can always wheel and deal on them, but they still owe the full share of the revenue to the league (which then gets distributed to all of the owners).

If the Bengals wanted to sell all of their remaining tickets to Joe Public, or Channel 12, at half price, they certainly could. However, they'd scratch out a check for the other half of the ticket prices to the league. I'm sure that is being discussed ad nauseum with Mr. Brown, Katie, and Troy.

I heard that season ticket holders had to pay for two playoff games, once they made the playoffs, upfront with a refund coming if they do not have another home playoff game. Does anyone know if this is correct?

The two most EXPENSIVE games - a divisional game and the conference championship. The game Sunday is a wildcard game (slightly cheaper than a divisional game). The Bengals will not host a divisional game and unlikely to host the conference championship. As far as a refund, you have to ASK for it. Otherwise, they apply it to next season's tickets.

When I had them we paid for 2 games and if they didn't make the 2nd round, they give you a credit towards next season. If you cancel season tix I'd imagine you get a refund.

I'm familiar with the revenue sharing, I just wasn't aware of the Bengals prices vs the rest of the league. I knew they were cheaper than Giants tix.

The mean income in NY area is higher as well.

You are correct NKYPete. They just credit your account.

Just read where Kroger just bought a bunch of tix. We are getting closer......
